Brian: I’m painting my 1965 C10 where the top is white and the bottom half is Red. They meet without a trim piece. Question: should I mask each color where they meet or apply white then mask and paint over the white with the red. I’m way old school using single coat paint and no clear since in 1965 they didn’t use clear. Gary – in Nebraska

Hi, could you give me a bit of help, I bought a car that has been repainted all under the hood area and it had a few chips in the paint so I started to repair it but then I found that the entire paint was just peeling off and had not stuck to the surface at all so I used a paint scraper and just remover every bit of the paint back to the original Black paint underneath as the car was originally Black but now I am wondering why the paint did not stick so I can do it again without the same problems. Can you give me any advice as to what to do now. Thanks.

Have always found black (even metallic blacks) most of the time not neading to blend the base coat. Aslong as the repair is good, black always comes out great!

Have been a painter for over 30 years, i use to watch guys burn the paint off on the c pillars all the time. It's so not worth it, it only takes like 10 more minutes to prep it up and over and it will not fail from the sun later on. Good video!
