There are one super chargers now in Holland MI. Hudsonville Mi had a super charger for some time.
First mistake: Traveling in a Tesla!
I charge at home but I wonder how charging etiquette is now that other vehicles can use Tesla superchargers, especially those that have their charge port on the opposite side.
GOOD job Andy
Times have changed. CCS chargers are going to NACS connecters in the U.S. so adapters won’t be necessary for Teslas in the future.
Did you record about efficiency related to speed then showed a clip at 3.04 driving in the rain at 84 mph? EIGHTY FOUR MPH? In rain?
I can’t find A Better Route Planner app
Charge to %100 and find a hotel at your destination that has a charger are the two biggest hints. I 6.6kw charger at your destination can put you back to %100 overnight. Beware of hotels that have one charger for like 10 cars.
This is probably the worst Tesla video I've ever seen. Wtf bro I srsly do something else… Jesus
If your tyre pressures are a little low, that can reduce range so pump your tyres up if range is likely to be an issue.
Bro why get a tesla if u need to not use most of its unique features to save juice!
For your Michigan trip, were you not able to use your mobile charger at your destination so you didn't need to stress about rationing battery?
I have done several road long trips. Tesla's nav has been more than adequate in every case. I have ABRP but have never found it to be useful. I have the Supercharger app. It is very handy for finding SCs; it recently added a route option with a subscription which I don't use. While driving and consuming power faster than originally expected the Tesla will reroute to a closer SC. Charging to 100% before beginning a trip is nice to do but not important. On my last trip I did that and it knocked 10 minutes off the first stop…. all else was the same. It's cheaper to charge at home. Destination charging at hotels is really handy. On two trips we had them and since we were there a few days, it was ultra convenient. Most charge slowly but are free .
Many stores offer free charging! Like Safeway! Ever heard of free gas?
When you finally get your two roadsters then you could sell them and buy a bunch of Blueettis or Anker Solixes that would be nuts . By the way what’s up with your two roadsters?
Pretty new Tesla owner. I’m amazed at how much juice sentry mode soaks up. I leave it off most of the time now.
Exactly what I wanna do when I go on vacation. Have to worry about overplanning, fueling, range of my vehicle. “ I’d love to go see AB or C, but we don’t have enough power.” no thanks. Keep it around home and enjoy your vacation with your ice vehicle.
If in trouble: Turn off the A/C or heat.
New Model 3 driver here. Thanks for the info on the mobile charger! I'm definitely getting one of those for road trips and might see about using it at home as I typically don't do a lot of driving. Of course, I will eventually get the standard wall connector installed.
So there is one thing that you didn’t mention, and that is always make sure that you check your tires pressure, because you could take a really big hit on under inflated tires. Cheers 🥂
Mistake no 1 is buying a Tesla to begin with.
I'm wondering why payload weight would have much effect on range? Isn't the extra kinetic energy held in the payload mass, recovered when slowing down via regenerative braking? Nice report and thanks.
He speaks pleasantly but this is the longest commercial that I have ever heard in a YT video
I think Holland, MI has had its super charging at the Meijer there for at least a year
