There are no harmful chemicals in evaporation ponds for Li extraction, it's the same process as salt extraction up to the separation phase. Whomever keeps parroting this BS is spreading misinformation. As for extracting it from rock there are no emissions besides the machinery doing the extraction which, in time, can also be electric.
