3:35 – You could choose between different themes in the previous model.
3:37 – The trackpad worked great. So they reduced functionality, I see.
4:08 – I guess having it as standard is a plus, but I already have Android Auto, so not an improvement for me.
4:13 – Android Auto didn't fill the screen in the previous version? If so I never noticed.
4:27 – So… same as the previous version? I certainly have it in my car.
When driving I wish he mentioned which mode he was in. Sport is stiffer and more jerky than Comfort for instance.
Previous generation w177 also had not only touchpad but touch control 10'' screen as well
👎🤮 pitoyable Mercedes
Had a new 2022 AMG C class estate, and as in this review the build quality for a premium brand was awful.
Too many things are flimsy , and may look upmarket but are not , when you live with it for a few weeks.
Had repeated software problems with the car , which the Mercedes dealer could not resolve, and returned the car after 3 months for a refund.
Bought a BMW , much better 😊
The facelift is light but for me, this new class A is better than all premium hatch 👍
Would rather grab a new 308 for that price
Old car had touchscreen, ambient lighting etc already… Not new
Who wants a car with fake exhaust?
capacitive bs buttons, who wants that
Its very ugly looking
God damn, German automakers really have no clue how to do a modern looking UI.
AMG this hatch and have it available in the US.. please
Feels overpriced
it's the same .
the piano black on the dash is a pain in the .. the keep clean
Yet another car brand that will learn the hard way that getting rid of physical buttons on the steering wheel will result in a backlash
I have the A250 and my two complaints are how uncomfortable the seats are and the jerky initial pull away.
Otherwise it’s a great car for city and long trips
Looks the same man.
The A class is terrible on speed bumps
The trackpad on the old A Class is one of my favourite ways of using an infotainment system on a car ever! I use it everyday. This is coming from someone in their 20s too. This seems like a step backwards! I also love the old A class steering wheel – most luxurious steering wheel I have used and most intuitive. I won’t be moving from my current A class to the new one
The exterior of the older model 2016-2018 is still nicer. AMG with night pack.
I've moved on from my a200 w177 and I can't believe they've removed the trackpad from the facelift model. I always found the touchscreen to feel really far away. Nice to see CarPlay is no longer a £200+ option too. Subtle improvements on the exterior but really like the new look steering wheel.
Go less premium and leave the A class… cause underneath u drive a Peugeot … so yeah …thats crap
Thousands of stars? I would argue that there's not even 100. This build quality reminds me of a Vauxhall Corsa.
Not a word on the oh so many Renault logo’s under the hood. This is so far away from premium apart from the screens..
I owned one of these and I couldn’t believe how much i disliked it. The gear box is terrible, suspension is terrible. Power is low. It really was a piece of arse. A golf , a3 , 1 series really shite on it
Recently purchased a CLA250e which is pretty much an A Class in coupe form, worst decision of my life was buying that car. The build quality from Mercedes is absolutely shocking for a car in that price range. I recently hired a 2022 Peugeot 308 GT Hybrid prior to buying the CLA, the 308 was miles ahead in terms of build quality and refinement, it had far more gadgets for the same price and was better looking in my opinion, I regret not buying that car instead. No idea what is going on with German car’s recently but the German engineering quality is dropping drastically or other car manufacturers are catching up very fast.
Daimler-Benz is completely ignoring the older generation which was for decades their rock-solid customer base. The 1st generation A-class and the slightly larger B-class cars were ideal for us senior citizens, whereas all newer cars in the entire range of products are either a nightmare to get in and out, or way too expensive for people living on a pension. This new class A is just ugly, uncomfortable – a mindless car for mindless people.
all u going on about the old touch pad get over it all u have 2 do is use voice commands simple and safer when u dont have 2 take your eyes of the road to scroll on your old dated pad!!!!
interior wise, i think it was a downgrade. LEL the only good thing about the experior is the front bumper.
My family has a 2019 A35 in Greece, what a great car. We bought it used with 17,500 km for around 24k. It’s a great car for the tight city streets and my parents love it. But, I absolutely love my 2017 Audi S1, we got it brand new and it now has 76,000km on it. Such a plucky little car. Good value, cheap to run and insure, haven’t had any major problems with it, and I drive it everywhere. I even put it on an 8 hr ferry to Italy and drove it to Switzerland to visit my friends.
Wow, this new Mercedes A-Class is absolutely stunning!
A200d owner. The trackpad is the main way I interact with the infotainment system 95% of the time. The buttons alongside the trackpad make switching between different menus in MBUX effortless. What a step backwards to replace such functionality with an ugly open storage area. As other comments have mentioned having to look to use the touchscreen can also be dangerous while driving too. The old style head/tailights have more character than these new simple ones. The old steering wheel with physical buttons was not prone to accidental touches. Really disappointed in mercedes with this mid life refresh. Soo glad I have the original
It’s literally worse than the 2019 version and costs more.
Half of the ‘subtle changes’ are ways to cut costs, not to improve.
Still the king in its class by far. Beautiful car.
Have they still renault engines?
Best car in class by far.
Loaded with amazing technology and safety features.
Interior design blows its rivals out of the water. Driving is very good on any kind of road. It’s a great premium hatchback.
Removing the touch pad is just pure cost cutting … it was much more comfortable using it to get into the menus during driving. Now I have to bend over to touch the screen … facepalm
Also putting touch sensitive buttons on a steering wheel in 2023 in a premium car (after VW showed what kind of bad idea this was) is just mindboggling.
So overall you get a worse infotainment and driver aids control sheme in a more expensive car …
Hi
I have this car and the drive on it is awful, the lag is bad from stopping to re accelerating. The breaking is quite slow and not quick.
Defo not a nice smooth ride
The touch pad was good to use now its gone.
The noise the car makes is silly it just doesnt sound sporty its like a bad sound.
The car seems to break for you mid drive – that weird hybrid thing, despite not actually being a hybrid.
Defo wont be getting another merc 😅
I swapped my a class amg a35 for the a 200.. mistake 😭
Is that a power bulge on a non AMG A_class
The 2023 Mercedes A-Class that I drive (along with many others!) has a fundamental flaw with the rear camera flap. When the car slows to under 15mph the rear camera flap opens (sounding like the central locking system engaging), it closes again when it reaches 20mph. The problem is, it continues to do this for the duration of the drive unless you can drive between 15mph and 20mph in straight line for around about 200 metres (I kid you not). It does this EVERY TIME you start the car. A number of disgruntled A Class drivers have taken their cars to the service depot assuming this is a fault, but sadly Mercedes say this is how the car should function. If you're happy to drive a car that has the noise of a central locking engaging every time you accelerate and decelerate then you'll be fine…but I'm yet to meet anyone that can tolerate this!
very nice your Rolex YM 40 126621
+14 is 177 hp 🙂
Bought the 2020 a class premium plus as a second car. Don’t think the new one is currently worth the upgrade money for me personally and also i prefer the touch pad and the steering wheel.
Definetily everyone's dream car
Super class and super easy
Mh Mercedes is not giving BMW a tough competition with this one
Nice one 👍
Didn't they also remove the rear independent suspension, and gave it a basic setup for the engines below 150bhp?
