Still daily drove it and raced it for over a year like that and just kept spraying the shit out of it. Tried to kill it with even a pure just open bottle shot and nothing. What ended up killing it? A construction speed bump he didnt see that they put on the highway. Put a hole in the pan and chucked up pieces into the crank. Lol
You don’t know how to build a D16, lmao niggas just put anything on it and then end up blowing it take it to a Puerto Rican mechanic and you will easily do 450 hp

Rods can hold up to 300 hp. Been studied by professional. Density vs mass explains it all…. 250hp would be well within handling with no problems. Remember the d16z6 is the d16a6 engine but just vtec

They hold 14.5 pound of boost and can make 275 to 300 with stock bottom ends.
With no boost, they also work well with 85 shot of nitrous.

Well metallurgy has come a long way.. the L15 b7 in my si is pushing 240whp or so, and the rods are puny..

I had a delsol d16z6 with 12psi out of a 14b turbo. It was untouchable and never died.

my first motor build, z6 made 365hp on stock bottom end and DAILY DROVE IT for almost 6 months and ALOT of abuse before i decided to go B series.
Go to speedfactory and buy the d16 rotating assembly package. And buy the main bearing. After that take everything and have it balanced for those rods and everything

Can you D series guys explain why you stick with that engine rather than go to a B series? Even B20 is dirt cheap and much stronger, more parts support, WAY better transmission, etc. I get rid of the D series immediately when I buy a civic. The only one I'd want to keep is a ZC DOHC to do a quad carb setup. Boosted D sounds very nice though, I will say.
my D16z6 makes 502hp at 22psi fully built stock sleeves mine is also a d2b so I have a gsr transmission
How do you verify that the entire aluminum bench is not deformed or bent with plastigage or alexometer?
If you get a safe enough tune and you don’t romp on it the bottom end can possibly survive
