HAPPY MONDAY ✌️ HAVE A BEAUTIFUL DAY
I always correct car salesmen when they use that stupid word pre-owned instead of used. Like bomb cyclone instead of storm.
I find it surprising that this report did not mention how INSANE markups at dealerships are also influencing buyers.
Twenny?
TWENNY?
Really?
C'mon!
It weakens your credibility.
Just. Don’t. You got something? Keep it. Only if below MSRP, no added fees. I’d never consider any other way.
"You'll get better rates, so it's a good deal for consumers."
That is the biggest load of crap ever. The prices are what is killing people. You have almost similar pricing on cars, but rates have gone up year over year too. There is no counter balance. Online sales isn't necessarily good either. The dealers just say here's the price, pay it or too bad. We all know the markups are stupid on those online listings too.
The landscape for car buying has changed dramatically. We don't have the bargaining power we used to have. Dealerships will sell generally to the highest bidder. We probably won't see this change till supply outreaches demand.
I always make V8 a fuel efficient suv
Since when do car dealers want to save time? 😂 Their whole objective is to get you there and keep you there for hours to wear you down!
Electric cars are worse for the environment to make them and dispose of them even compared to a gas cars entire lifetime, they can't go as far, they are limited where they can go, they can be shut off via remote control by somebody else and God only knows what else they can do by remote, They have way too much tech in them to the point where some Tesla owners were saying the amount of WIFI coming out of their cars is like being microwaved, sound fun? I'm not done yet, on top of it all if they catch fire they are not easy to extinguish, they may even continue to catch fire long after they've been put out. And to put the icing on the cake, the are ugly as sin. Anyone still sold on this garbage?
Get rid of greedy dealership mark-ups and maybe people will resort to buying a new car again. Lots of people are keeping their older cars as long as possible. Seems like this is a problem for people who lease since they have no choice but to pay what the dealer gives them, on top of an outrageous interest rate. Not to mention, the dealer over-inflating the cost of the lease returned vehicle and throwing it back on the lot.
So I live on the VA side of the DMV and I was eating a grape and almost choked with laughter when that dealer from Rockville talked about getting a good deal. All of the dealerships in the DMV from Fredericksburg to Annapolis are out of their cotton picking minds wight their markups. I have taken myself out of the market but I keep up with what dealers are doing & from what I've seen the further you get away from the DMV the more reasonable the listed prices.
Take out half of the crap (convenience packages) for half the price, then you'll have lots of sales. Guess there's lots of money to be made on packages.
I think it will be at least another year before there's any appreciable drop in prices consumers are paying for new cars.. when there is enough supply across all manufacturers to where dealers can't get away with 2-5k markups due to supply in the market vs perspective buyers
American consumers are the biggest problem with buying new vehicles in the USA. They are convinced they need large, heavy trucks/suv's/crossovers to the point we no longer get more affordable options because manufacturers only give us what will sell…

And the host wasn’t paid enough to use the ‘t’ sound in any of her words. Enjoy!
Reliable? Every new car is junk now and overpriced. Japanese have even figured it out to build junk. Top quality was 90s and early 2000s.
EVs are garbage.
I wouldn’t believe a car dealer salesperson if they told me water was wet.
"Saving money remains a big deal for consumers" as they buy loaded SUV's and pick-ups and many could buy a smaller car or CUV.
I bought a Tesla in Jan. Of 2022. I will never buy from a dealer again. In fact I may never buy another brand of car.
1. Dealers are shysters and no matter how great of a deal you think you’re getting, rest assured, they’re screwing you.
2. Buying a new car these days and paying ridiculous markups and “market adjustments” is idiotic. Might as well just flush your money down the toilet.
1:37 importence?
What is this a Hyundai commercial?
Everybody- don’t buy a car for two years.
Insane corporate profits the last few years, not to mention highest profits for oil and gas every recorded. Fire 40% of your staff and jack your prices to the moon and keep selling, thats a trend that OEM's would like to keep rolling forever. Base dodge ram looks to be about 100% more expensive then 4 years ago, good times…for Dodge.
Most people already know which vehicle they want. Nowadays, you shop for dealerships who won’t gauge you or have the least markup.
Sorry, can't agree with the assessment of this report. Have been on the hunt the last 3 weekends, all stealerships have yanked up the prices, no inventory, and requires $1k down payment with no incentives. Plan to visit that Jones junction in a couple days and see if they are as flexible as this report indicated.
Yea not buying them because they cost to much. That's what shames me about this show. You guys won't talk about the fact they are built cheaper for more money
I will never ever do dealer financing . I don't know why they donr just walk up to you wearing a black mask . It would let you know ahead of time ther it's a stick up
