That is anti repair.. I'm sure there is something in the buy contract from ferry horse.. from new owner.. and proprietary trade secrets.. et al.. but they should give after 3 years etc then.. and as a second owner you are not subj to contract.. so law says you can get the info
Maserati is just de tuned
dad looks so happy to be working on cars with ya, keep up the videos they are very entertaining and making me want to become a mechanic
Seen you and Lambo in gumball you gave it a great go πβοΈβοΈ
You have some patience you Mat π
did ferrari sued you every before xD?
Water inside a part that came from burning vehicle, hmm I wonder why Mat π π, but that's just in my opinion π
Am I the only one who thinks he was better of just buying a new ferrari f430 π Like he bought it for Β£60000 and a new one costs like around a Β£100000 he says. And all the time and money he already spent on this is just not worth it I thinkβ¦ he almost even broke even with the price of a new one. But still really amazing that they can do all this and I love the journey with it
Like the fact father and son doing stuff together. Mechanic myself and good to spend time with each other. When you put bearings in you lubed under the bearing shells.allways tought this is a no no. Ask whatis lubrication for? Bearings into block and conrods aren't suppose to move. Putting anything between bearing and block/conrod will change clearances especially assembly grease. Might think small differences doesn't matter but remember we are dealing with thousands of an inch. Please give feedback if you think i am wrong
Mat , you bought a fire damaged gear box for 4k , hoping it would be ok ?
Β£4K for a lump of scrap metal ffs
πΏπ¦
use the cog layout from the auto box to put the manual box back together because the gears will be the same regardless of auto or manual
Cool that you get to work with your father on projects that most of us only dream of.
Have you ever built a Ferrari engine… Umm no, Matt and his dad… "Hold my yfood"
Why didn't he just pull the gearbox apart and compare the 2 and rebuild the original one.
Itβs good that you get your dad involved and out of the special needs home in Suffolk, heβs an absolute inspiration for all the other special needs folk to join in and have some fun π
LEVEL THE VOLUME!!! Ear blasting to too low to hear. You spent so much time on good video, please handle the basics and do more projects
Liked this a lot better than the video of you driving the Lambo to Monaco.
Matt your dad is class what a legend!
This is my first comment ever on a YouTube. I love what you guys are doing. Keep it up from ohio usa.
Ferrari and Maserati use DIFFERENT CRANKS. that's most likely the reason for the difference π
Mate, I really enjoy watching you have proved it why youβre videos if you put your mind to it, you can do anything you are a good inspiration to the younger generation and you keep the good work up
Im ready to join your TEAM. NICE VIDEO
Omg the best sponsor advertisement ever ππ
The engine rebuild is mind blowing mate fair play!
Every purchase was risking it for the biscuit.
What make is your torque wrench angle setting tool Matt please
Rip
I love These videos. But!!!!! As a master technician there are things being done or i should say not being done on this engine rebuild that give me loads of anxiety. I will keep my words to myself and say thank you for these great videos.
Top marks to all tje advice coming from people that have rebuilt a few old engine and never had tje pleasure of working on a ferrari.. im sure you know wjat your doing and have been advised by the best on how to rebuild these
Iβm going out in a limb here, but in 5-10 yearsβ time Mat will have several honorary engineering degrees from UK universities, and honours for services to engineering education.
Mat deserves his huge following. Heβs an inspiration!
Your dad is awsome!
Do you realize how privileged you are you can do this hobby with your father ?
Honestly doing this with your dad is going to be great for his life memories when he enters his old age. I bet it is meaningful to you but to him i would wager it means the world
All the gears, no idea
You guys are great Mat. Thanks for the education β€οΈπππ½πΊπΈπ΅π·
is that water or oil coming out from the crankcase on the minute 6:47 ?
Ferrari sharing with Maserati?!? Freakn great, why did i freakn waste my time watchin that stupid movie haha
Binge watching!
Excellent videos, totally compelling. When rebuilding the engine though I did not see the valve gaps being checked. The valves were ground so gaps to the followers need to be checked. It is a complicated process shuffling shims around so you may not have shown it but I hope it was done. Keep up the good work.
hehe, noots and stoods
What is dripping out of the head when you turned it over at 6:47 ? I feel like you could / should maybe oil it up, but this almost seems like water to me
π€π»
You are doing a great job
Mat's dad is a whole vibe
can you explain pls why did u put assembly lube below the big end bearing ?
