replacing tires at every 25000 miles is a lot if you compare them with regular gas cars or hybrid.
I'm at 118,000 with my M3 LR, so I'm approaching that 120k.. Full charge went from 307 miles to 288 miles. I have had to replace all the struts around it. Fronts costs me $1000 and had to replace them around 60,000 miles; and rear cost me $600 around 110,000 miles. No other big issues.
I really love my Tesla. especially knowing that every time I plug my car in that I'm not using anymore fossil fuel. I'm doing my part to save the environment.
1 million mile tesla??? Don't think so!! Takes years and years unless they have people trading driven the same car non stop. Yes maintaining as welll.
In the Northeast the limiting factor is winters. They spread car solvent on the roads, and all the cars I've had were shit after ten years or less. The engines and drive train were like new. I'm not going to pay that much money for an EV and have the car dissolve around the perfectly good motor and battery.
The only downside is that Tesla only guarantees a battery that is at least 70% of its original capacity when doing replacements. So if your battery degrades 31%, Tesla could replace with a used pack that has degraded 25% and it has fulfilled its warranty. It’s sad they don’t just replace with brand new packs for degradation claims. Maybe they do use new packs for defective batteries though.
I’m well aware that a Nissan Leaf is nowhere near the vehicle that a Tesla is (I own a 2019 Model 3) but my Nissan Leaf had a battery degradation claim filed and they replaced with a brand new pack. Wish Tesla would do this
Why do they estimate that a vehicle gets scrapped after aprox. 200,000 miles in US and after ~150,000 miles in Europe?
just let you know i am a Y owner. I got the car in Jul 2021. only 13 months, with 33,000 miles. My battery drops about 5%-6%
Yea but why does it have to be so freaking ugly and be built like a can of Coke? Everything is rattling, I’m so pissed!
Correction at 4;59 – 4,000 charges not 400,000 (or vice versa?)
Correction at 6:09 500,000 not 50,000 miles
Having worked in service for various auto manufacturers over 15 yrs typically 10 yrs or 100k miles is considered a life span for a vehicle. Anything beyond that point is considered a bonus and traditionally that's when more expensive components tend to fail.
I’m at 102K miles on my 2020 and I thought I had a lot 😨
ONLY $263,000? Wow!
Would like to see how long these would last in a Canadian winter.
You did a good job explaining EV vehicle's batteries. There are many 2017 Chevy Bolts on YouTube that have reached well over a hundred thousand miles and their range capacity lost is similar to that of Teslas. I have a Chevy bolt that's lost only lost 3% of its capacity and I bought it used. It's a 2017 model. I still haven't gotten a new battery replacement on it because of the recall and it has 50,000 miles on the odometer. I'm waiting for the dealership to get a new battery. There are other people on YouTube with videos that are garbage, talking about batteries having to be replaced at 100,000 miles. I was watching a video by Sorelle Amore Finance and she completely got most her facts wrong about electric cars and the batteries. I'm going to keep my Bolt and run it through the ground. Especially if I'm going to get a new battery. There's still a risk though. Hopefully, the new battery from LG chem will not catch fire on my Chevy Bolt. I'm not worried about it. That's what insurance companies are for.
Where are these people driving and only getting 150 thousand miles in 8 years. I’ve had mine for 4 and I’m at 116 thousand
Incredible – Thanks for reporting
I‘ve bought a Model X, build in 2016, to be my last car. I‘m now 55 years old and I think ist‘s possible to drive my MX until it‘s time for me to stop driving because I‘m to old to do that. Maybe Elon delivered FSD to Europe in meanwhile, I‘ve bought it already and could rise up the time for me to travel.
Let's see going to place a fucking batter in a tire come on bro who gives a shit I can drive a million miles in my fucking 7.3 diesel too Without waiting 16 years
Peeling wooden dash board???? Ummmm is wood?
Tesla has one of lowest ratings for car quality..
I bought my Long Range Model 3 on June 2, 2021 and today (8/26/22) I have 24,496 miles on it. But it is in the shop getting a new battery. Fortunately it is covered by warranted. Bend Tesla was kind enough to give me a loaner, and older model RWD model 3. The first day I got a message on the screen that the 12 volt battery needed to be replaced. Wonder if anyone else has the battery go bad in fourteen months. Can't wait for the cybertruk. Maybe a better battery. So the 1,000,000 mile battery is but a pipe dream,
A little disappointed with my 2020 Tesla Model Y Performance battery so far. The car is definitely the best vehicle I have ever owned in my opinion, but the battery isn't doing as well I could have hoped. I am currently at just under 16,000 miles on the odometer, at a little over 2 years of ownership, and I appear to get a 100% full charge claimed value of something usually in the 284 (+/-4 or so) range these days (perhaps a bit lower, as I haven't charged to 100% in the last month). Given the 315 mile original EPA rated range for my model of vehicle, this means I have lost around 10% so far. If the degradation rate doesn't slow down, and instead continues at the current rate, then there is a good chance I may reach the 70% retained capacity warranty level in maybe 6 years of total ownership. This is somewhat unfortunate in my opinion, as I do sometimes tow a trailer with the vehicle, and the immense range penalty associated with the aerodynamics of the trailer really does mean I need every last mile of real world range I can get.
That said, I still like the car overall, and I can't think of a better car model currently on the market that I would rather own.
the rapture will happen before 2030 according to all the environmental, weather, astronomical signs ,israel timelines/ third temple building plan etc showing, no ones the day or hour . see people having rapture dreams vanishing you tube -and site rapture ready web site ~ its no coincidence
Ryan, I am going to buy at Y but not sure if I should wait for next battery configuration or just order now or before September as you have suggested in a recent podcast.
Thank you, I appreciate your insights.
Happy to drive Model 3 LR 👍
