Think its called minimine that has the proper panels simpsons classics uses them panels on his minis
Really enjoyed watching the video just about the right length of filming can’t wait for the next one 👍
Great video, really looking forward to this series, it was good to have a chat with you at the NEC 👍
The floor….😂. What a cracker. There's less metal to be replaced than on the mk1 tho.
Ahhhhh yes, longer videos is where it's at boys! Sold and purchased many a mini in the late 70's early 80's, don't think I ever paid more than £75 for one 😭
Gaydon will have a certificate for it
You had me subscribed at Mini!
as an 85yearold have built minis from bodyshells, for your information mini dash controls on mk1 are as follows starting from the left heater control operating valve on top of cylinder head, next is wiper switch, next is ignition switch with key, next is light switch 1st click is side lights 2nd click is headlights, final righthand is the choke control. Button by clutch is dipswitch, and finally button to left of drivers seat is the starter button,Looking forward to your build on the mini with interest
You've been robbed, you over paid by about £10000
There are no metric nuts or bolts on MK1 Minis. They are all A/F sizes. Switches, left to right pull/push is the heater, wipers, key ignition, lights position 1 – side lights position 2 head lights. under the speedo is panel lights switch. on the heater box is the fan switch. On the floor near the clutch pedl is the headlamp dip switch. Near the front left of the drivertsseat is the push down starter switch.
I thought early minis were positive earth? I had a 1965 one from new. The yellow one is probably standard whereas the red one is super deluxe with the ‘handles’ on the bumpers
if we find a morris or austin seven rusted out but with a surviving roof i need one because my mk1 morris mini has one from a mk3 and it is not right at all
Only 10k, that miles or patches 🤨
…where’s it been parked, in the sea??? ….Also spoiler alert, the fella thought this was the best one 😂
13:11 the other switch are the wipers
Love your videos lads
Blimey, I've seen something new there – you have to call that one Project Patch! Another vote here for the longer format videos, Keep up the great work💪
I have a pair of switches sat in my shed you can have FOC
The other switch is for the NOS LOL 😆 got to call her Peggy
i prefer a classic car to be restored as close to factory as possible with the only upgrads are subtle and for ease of use and safety.
I got a six wheeler mini van to sell it would look good on your show its advertised on gumtree
What was the criteria for buying that particular battery? Was it the cheapest and has a "go handle"?
Could the switch under the clocks be an old coil isolator for theft protection? Or is it the clock lights?
Looking forward to watching these two
Have you noticed on the left side is the full 1963/4 valence and on the right is a later scoped valance, I’ve never see that before 😊
Wow 10,000 miles mini. With a floor made of metal patches just wounded with the old newspapers are. Two classic projects and look for to seeing these builds. Could the switch be for the wiper blades ?
Hello from California! I just discovered your channel already subscribed &👍 I don’t think that this car is the original paint because the subframe in the front it’s been painted and the chrome plate on the door is being painted as well… anyhow I’m looking forward to see the ddevelopment of both cars . Cheers
Longer videos please😊👍
Wiper switch Boys !!!
Fiesta yellow mini looks like a super deluxe (oval instrument cluster and padded lower was rail) but it should then have handlebar bumpers as the red car has. Also would have opening rear wi does (didn't notice if it hasn't not) and chrome strip in the screen rubbers. Something odd about front panel with one side having the cutout and the other not. I think on a 64 it should not have the cutout.
Just discovered this, last year I bought a ' 61 Austin Seven unused since 1974 ( 37K ) and in a remarkable state of preservation , recomissioning is ongoing.Your policy of preserving as much as possible is in current thinking and really worthwhile .I've already managed to save 100% of ALL electrical items ( all dated 11' 61 ) including the dipswitch which felt the same as yours , the same with dash panel ones that were open circuit .The left knob on this later car with fresh-air heater is the remote heater tap on the head ( earlier cars the fan rheostat ) .Next switch wipers , then ignition control only as floor start , then lights, then choke .All the chrome is excellent but the original bumpers were repaired and rechromed , ALL replacements are crap with only 3 1/4" UNF fixings – worth the cost .Mine's Surf Blue, the same time as Fiesta Yellow introduced as a Mk11 -Mk1 if you see what I mean !, after the 3 basic red, white and blue colour hues separate types for both Austin & Morris .The only thing wrong with the Fiesta Yellow colour were the pale blue seats which in my opinion just looked wrong !.Good luck with the projects .I guess your car just might have been made in late ' 63 or early ' 64 as mid way through ' 64 the cars became hydrolastic , solenoid starting and 2LS front brakes. Get the Heritage Certificate for it, fascinating ' lost ' history comes to you , from the Gaydon British Motor Heritage Museum.
This is going to be a good build!
Defo stick with the longer one, in fact open up for a live audience 🙂
Sooo much better than salvage rebuilds UK… The pair of miserable gits.!
Looking forward to this, I have a '68 panel van sitting in my shed waiting for me to finish the house. I was thinking of selling it, but you might have just inspired me to keep it.
M-Machine for the full floor pan, and probably everything else you’ll need. Even Heritage used their Mk1 floor for their shells. Looking forward to seeing this all come together. Also noticed the front panel is a half/half effort, nearside has the cut out for ‘cooling’ and the offside has the (probably) original full skirt.
This is why l love these car builds
Cut out rust replacing metal &
rebuilding them to look pucka
Good work guys , keep the
Episodes coming & we will
watch them 😳😱😱😱😱
Looks like you need
Minimine for mini parts 😱
Great video guys, really enjoyed it.❤
By the look of those floorboards you should take that car to a quilting show instead of a car show 😂
Does anyone remember a custom mini from the 80s or 90s that was ultra low and made to look like it had been crushed flat but was road legal or am I having a senior memory moment ?
Merry Christmas lad's 🎅
Good resto project but I don't think the mileage is genuine and it seems to have some parts on it later than an early Mk1 Mini.
where are you guys? we need our Odd Autos fix FFS!!!!!!
Where have you two buggered off to?😅
Minis are rubbish and way over priced but you can’t help loving them, despite all the hassle that goes with them they are awesome and always put a smile on your face and other people’s when you go past in one.I’ve hand a few but really miss my convertible 😢and I definitely wish I owned the shorty you done it would be a keeper for sure 👍🏻
And the original floor is under all those plates
Love to get an update soon
That's all??
First time here subscribed and liked 👍.
I personally wish the video was longer .
It's 5 months old and couldn't find any other following videos on this one ☹.
I have 1976 one in similar condition and it would have been very interesting it you make more videos showing the following steps.
Enjoyed watching this one and hope you get back to it and share with us your progress on doing her up🤞 we need more updates pls.
I remember seeing both those on eBay but they ended up too expensive for me! Lol. Anywa, I've just bought a 1960 mark 1 that needs a full restoration so im really interested to see how it goes with yours and what mods you do as i may do some tastefully concealed mods on mine. Keep up the good work guys!
