I โค๏ธ all your videos wizard, I don't comment as much but as long as I drop my ๐๐๐is all good….
Never, never use a hose to clean interior of a Element, there is electronic under and near the seat.
Use a damp sponge.โ ๏ธโ ๏ธโ ๏ธโ ๏ธโ ๏ธ
Hard on gas!
Don't forget to adjust the valves at a 125000 K
Do not wash it out with a garden hose.
Oh great Car Wizard, do luv the show you & Mrs Wizard produce. Do you agree with Scotty Kilmer that replacing the STARTER on a Honda Element is relatively costly and because of mechanical access, extremely difficult?
Next video idea: Reasonably priced TOW vehicles under 10-15K. thx
MAYBE A GREAT 'FLATLANDER CAR .. BUT ITS A DOG IN REAL HILLS/MOUNTAINS
Whatever happened to Honda. They used to produce very useful, functional vehicles with the Element being at the top of the list. Would be great if Honda would bring the Element back with a lot of the same structure and modern engine/electronics. That new Element would really positively stand out in today's market. Think Ford Maverick but far better.
I wish the underneath of mine looked this good. Snow and salt has not been kind to my frame. Honestly donโt know what Iโm gonna get after my element. Itโs so practical. Nothing else like it on the market
Great video. What years do you suggest to buy ? And, should I set a limit on how many miles the Element has?
Thanks !
Too bad the Fit was discontinued in the US
This was gonna be my dream car for college bought it after my Camryโs engine exploded, installed a new oil pan in the bottom, and then heard, knocking in the engine, took it to my friend who is a Honda mechanic, and he told me to sell the car immediately. Loved the space though
I think the only reason Tesla doesn't make a similar body style is because it would just canabolize every other model in their line.
Your credibility goes in the crapper when you tell people they can hose out a vehicle that was never meant to be hosed out! There are no drain holes for the water to go out!
I had to get rid of my 2005 awd manual Element last year unfortunately. It was prohibitively expensive to repair at that point but got it to 216,000 miles. I loved the car. It was a small utility truck that could also be a nice riding car. I tried hosing it out the first year I bought it which was 2010 because I remember people said you could and that was a mistake. There's no drainage and I wound up having to manually remove the water and dry the floor as best I could. I had to do some small rust removal work later. Over the years I had to replace the transmission, had some engine work done and the usual maintenance. It drives really well imo. I wish Honda put more effort into developing the element. I think there's a place to make a model that has more power with a stiffer suspension and other upgrades that would make it true off-road. Great video.
Greatest dog car ever made. Actually, only functional dog car ever made.
365,424 miles.
Runs well.
The garden hose thing is a myth. It has vinyl floor mats but you can not hose it out. ( there are no drains) . The vinyl side panels and bumpers are easier to scratch than paint which is why the panels were painted on the later models. The suspension is rather complicated with many rubber bushing which need to replaced at high cost , Iโve been quoted $1,200. So $2000 for front and rear.
DO NOT EVER WASH OUT AN E WITH A GARDEN HOSEโฆโฆunder the plastic floor covering exist electrical componentsโฆ..there are no drain plugsโฆ.you will create a perfect environment for rust.
Simple Green and mop it out.
Ford maverick base model doesnt have cruise control.
Iโve had mine for around 17 years now and have around 300k miles on it. Easily the best vehicle Iโve ever owned.
Those are great little cars!!!
Itโs sad that a company that builds such amazingly RELIABLE vehicles doesnโt have the brains to know which vehicles they need to continue producing and which ones weโre not interested in anymore. The Element should still be built today. As should the fantastic Prelude. And their amazing little 2 seater, the S2000. It was a sheer act of stupidity to stop producing those cars.
I have one just like this 2004 2.4 AWD with the 5 speed manual itโs truly amazing love that little thing 225,000 miles too and runs like new
the only thing I hate more than cars is working on them. My pops was a mechanic and I never could tolerate engine work. But the sense of riding this Element blew me away. I felt so comfortable about it. The added sense of security knowing whatever spilled while you were driving could be so easily cleaned up was worth so much. Bare minimum dash options that only benefit it with just a few extra ports. The best part is the quick fold down seats to bed for a sleep when needed. Can't praise it enough.
I just bought a 2006; 5 speed; manual with 192K. May end up rebuilding it but I'm in hog heaven.
Just purchased an 2004 with 243k for very low price! I'm happy with it I stopped it off at the shop so they can give it an up and down and change all fluids etc. Mechanic said it was a great buy.
No. Do. not. hose. out. your. Element. ๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ฉ
What does bro have against cruise control ๐
Honda Element = Honda Crv with the same model year. I love the timeless esthetic of the Element though. It still looks nice
Try changing the oil filter.. lol.
They don't even make the Honda Fit anymore
I'm at 170k and counting……
2004 AWD 5-Speed purchased new, sold it 10 years later….I miss her so much. Ran like a top. Amazing.
This guy talk very Honest.
