why would they especially mate a CVT to a V8 engine considering CVT's and high torque mix as good as tequila and viagra
ok after reading the top comment, I don't feel bad about my toyota CVT transmission, but very slow, it's meant for efficiency and more runs so I guess less complaints there, only downside to our car is that it's daihastu body frame, so strut bars are needed, and upgraded suspensions and tires. ( basically modded already )
I abhor CVTs! This video was very satisfying – a good way to burn time while eating lunch. 👍👏
I have a Toyota CVT , currently on 270k kms , they are not trash in any way shape or forum , they're actually amazing transmissions if you service them correctly
Was that 22 Autobahn sold?
I also get trans fluid everywhere but it’s never like that🤔
You shouldn't get a CVT if you are an IDIOT! 99% of owners have NO PROBLEMS with them, but people who A: Shift while in motion and B: Don't get them SERVICED DO have problems. I personally know of a Nissan Altima with 2 MILLION+ miles on the original CVT that works PERFECTLY and is driven nearly 100 miles daily for a commute and it's a 3.5L V-6!!! What is the "secret"??? They DON'T "rolling shift" from reverse to drive, or drive to park (no "big zipper sound") they get it adjusted, they change THE FLUID at the recommended intervals. The "sho' nuf tale" is with a V-6 the CVT won't last a year. Billy's has lasted 15+. The Citroen/Renault CVT transaxle is the most widely used transaxle in cars EVER with more than 42 million in service and only "Murikuns" have problems with 'em. But we can't read an owner's manual…which is why people do $5000 damage with the jack changing a tire! ($40,000 to a Porsche!)
I wonder if they made any improvements in the ZF transmission in the b9.5 s4
The only horrible CVT transmissions I've experienced are from Nissans. Which are made by Jatco I believe . Toyotas and Hondas seem to be pretty reliable from what I've seen.
I have 2018 Sentra with 43k miles on the clock, changed the transmission fluid at required time by the manual, great transmission for daily driving and great power for smooth driving experience

: If you change the fluid before its recommended time (30,000 miles), would this lesson the problems that you might have?
I have a 2023 Honda Civic Sport Sedan 2.0L. I have a little over 3,000 miles now. No problem so far.
By the way, outstanding info information video. A little destructive. LOL.

My Honda CVT (1.5 T) works still perfect and the power and fuel consumption is a dream!
I can smell the room reeking of foul transmission fluid from my phone 💀
I love this guy’s vibes ☺️
Sorry for the dumb question…but isn't this essentially a centrifugal clutch setup, which could be found on most mopeds? (or at least it used to)
Calling it a CVT transmission was the first mistake. Either call it a CVT or just CV Transmission.
I'll never get a cvt and all my friends will never get a cvt and all of us have told parents and relatives to never get a cvt. Utter trash.
I have a Toyota Prius CVT, and I really like it. Smooooooth. Up to 160k+ and never had any issues.
You can really see why these transmissions are so damn expensive. REALLY cool engineering!
This video would have been even better if it was more explicit about the pros/cons of cvt vs non. I assume regular transmissions, excluding the clutch, are simpler and therefore more reliable?
Why are the car companies pushing these? Because they are expensive and get them $ when they break?
Anyway, I really love the concept and smoothness of CVT. So if I get a Toyota I'll be happy to have one.
its so interesting almost all the cvt users love their transmissions and recommends while all the mechanics hate it to death. not sure which one to believe.
When I was broke I got a 2013 Kia soul. She lasted for 10 years with a CVT. At 64k miles I replaced the fluid and she made it to 105k miles before I sold her. OMG I got a 6 speed trany with my new Mazda CX-50 and it feels like a race car lol. A real transmission makes such a difference
I had a B8 A4 with the mutitronic gearbox. Nice and smooth/quiet on a run but it was tricky pulling away quickly from a junction as it was so easy to wheelspin.
