Fair enough that you call out EV for its current inadequacies. However, you have been warning about Combustion powered JUNK for decades now! The complexity, manufacturing, maintenance, pollution, Global Energy corruption and Politics being merely the major Maladies!
Who do you believe more- Consumer Reports based on a short-term analysis, or car rental companies that are counting the pennies they spend on EV maintenance, or people who own EVs?
I listened to the whole thing and didn't hear anything that makes any sense, or is specific enough for me.
Notice that half the video is about something else, how he didn't refer to any specifics. That is sketchy to me.
This video is a disservice to people who could buy affordable EVs, spend less on charging than on fuel.
The only potential concern for me (I have or had 5 EVs) is the battery life, but after almost 60k miles, there is no reduction in range so far.
We did have two warranty repairs and there could potentially be problems after the warranty is up- we'll see.
The other 4 vehicles have an excellent record after 35k miles for 2 of them and 10k miles for the other (5th is a motorcycle, and I'm not counting it, even though it has had no issues.)
I have spent $30 on maintenance so far all together. Not bad.
There were electric vehicles 100 years ago, they didn't need all these computers, I'm sure U could make electric vehicles without all these computers. If a car manufacturer made electric vehicles without all these computers U wouldn't have all these problems.

I'm sure scotty knows that todays gas engines have computers and sensors attached, he should also speak with owners of electric cars to get their ownership experience. Not to mention there are many other advantages of electric.

Friend had a truck with combination to get in . Well his battery went dead when he went to go somewhere ! It was the push button shorting out the battery . Food for thought !
