At just below 85K — Oil leaking from VC — went forward and changed with OEM Mahle VC.
I consider that the pictures present that the outdated cowl was filled with hardened & crusty oil carbon kind stuff. Though the outdated cowl was not warped or cracked that I may inform – the small passage methods for the PCV oil separator can be tough to correctly clear ~ glad I alter the Cowl and never simply the gasket.
On my outdated N54 engine I had simply modified out the gasket.
The gasket on this R&R was brittle and would snap crack on the decrease areas of the quilt near the exhaust manifold (warmth cycle problem for certain).

Rear most (3) Cowl bolts have been tough to entry however utilizing my 1/4 flex extension it was doable and was even capable of torque all 3. I did oil prime by leaving the injectors unplugged however it’s not obligatory. Adopted up with clearing codes with my Autel OBD Scanner.
