Imo, that argument about exhaust fumes coming back inside with the rear window rolled down is kinda semi valid. If you drive with your driver's window down around the town, you basically inhale fumes from hundreds of other vehicles no matter what.
Just put a deposit on a 23 sr5 premium with sunroof. Settled for white, already on the way. Should have it the end of next month. Fingers crossed. 4 wheel drive. Can't see getting the 4 cylinder turbo.
Like my classic limited
Dont want a crossover car and a smaller engine no thanks
Like back window down feature
Love party mode speaker button
I have 2013
Yeah take things away and charge more no thanks
Get your Japanese manufactured Forerunner before they are being made in the US or Mexico. Toyota is going to be pushing out hybrids for all vehicles except Tacoma and Forerunner soon. Sad reality because a hybrid has a shelf life of 5 yrs if you’re lucky. 5th Generation Forerunner will last a lifetime.
If they're going to turn the 4RUNNER to a hybrid. Give options.
Do what they're doing with the Sequoia.. it has a nice V6 mated with electric motors. So you get both.
I agree with you that unless you are always off road, the limited is the way to go. It's antiquated with features compared with competition. I been looking at the RAV4, Sequoia & 4RUNNER. I'd highly consider a Limited 4RUNNER because of how well built it is .
I bought a 2022 TRD ORP 4Runner and perfectly pleased that I have it. I'm at the age that reliability and function is much more important to me than the latest designs. I don't want any turbo charged 4 cyl engines and some new high speed transmission. I'm good with the 4.0 and 5-Speed.
I have a 2006 Limited with the V8. It has the full time 4wheel drive which only came with the v8. I would definitely want full time 4 wheel drive again as you don’t have to stop and put it in 4 wheel drive. I live in Ontario and used it for driving north of Toronto to my cottage. At times you would go from wet roads to icy roads and this vehicle was amazing for this type of situation. A non full time 4 wheel drive was rear wheel drive until you shift it to 4 wheel drive and by the time you realized the road was turning to ice you already were skidding or spinning around. I bought it new and it has been a good vehicle. I am thinking of replacing it with a new Limited.
As a 2014 toyota 4runner trail edition owner I'd advise to get the 5th gen version
Zero problems with regular maintenance
No 4runner is outdated. They are what they are. The Best! 1st to 5th they are the best! Practical is something else you pay for what you want and you accept it in alll its glory!
as good as toyota's 4unner quality is, i would never ever ever buy a 1st year model … wait until the 3 year marker before investing into it …
Do you want a V6 and built in Japan 🇯🇵?
Or, do you want a continuously high revving 4 cylinder turbo built in Mexico 🇲🇽?
I know which one I'd choose, Lol.
What the fck do you mean by outdated!!!!? 1st gen is outdated, not the 5th gen!
How long does the xreas suspension last?
4Runner is phase out
Never buy the first year of any remake!
forced induction engines will never last as long as naturally aspirated engines. Turbos wear engines out.
NATURAL ASPIRATED…V6 AND HIGHER….IF NOT..BUY THE 5TH GEN INSTEAD
There is nothing outdated about it… The turbo charged route is unproven at the moment for longevity.
Smart. Very smart. Thank you.
I will not buy the redesign if it is built in Mexico.
highlander is the best for street and city life if you don't go offroading!
Toyota highlander is known in Asia;Crown Kluger
Don't want a 4 – turbo or hybrid. In the 4runner or Tacoma
People buy Toyota for reliability not new and fancy, that's what BBA's are for. I just traded my POS 21' Taco for a 2023 4Runner. This may be the last Toyota I will buy.
Or I can just buy the Bronco now.
😅 I like………..
I will keep my 2001 Sr5 w/35" wheels… it is priceless… maybe trade in my 2001 Limited.
Buy now. I have no interest in a turbo and all the extra under hood plumbing, coolers, etc…that go with it, along with long term reliability issues. And I certainly do not want a hybrid. The choice is simple.
Explain the safty reasons for no moterized back window please.
The turbos are garbage forced upon the automotive industry by the EPA/Joe Biden’s/green new deal
By one that is damaged or blown engine and drop a 4BT cumins in it with a manual trans
Lease a current gen for 3 years. And figure out what to do after. More than likely you’ll have some equity left to make a educated decision
4cyl turbo? , no sanks
A turbo charged engine will end the longevity of a Toyota forerunner…
I'll never Pay the Price for a New One. Or Lease one. That is a mortgage payment to me. I Have only every bought 1 new car a 1998 rav4. 460 000 km When I sold it in 2005. I put to many high KM On them. So am sticking with the plan of buying a 5 to 6 years old med KM and then I wack the KM to them.
They've already lost most of there deprecation. Cheaper to insure. and Cost over time for me is far less. I'm retired now and pass this advice on to my kids and nieces and nephews. And knock on wood they are following it. People need to make there dollar go rather. We're not all Rich and If I was. I'd still buy a used one.
Totally agree with your advice. I am leasing a TRD Pro for 24 mos. and then will see what to do when the 6th gen comes out. Can always buy out the lease.
wondering if i should trade my low mileage 2020 trdp for the new one just for the bells and whistle upgrade
if i have more money i not gonna buy new no more. Now i still do love my old 4runner. look like they take away some of system, specially V6 to 2.4L and Battery hell no. current My old 4runner 4.0L V6 also i still need 5.3L V8. 😂😂😂😂😂
I'd like to see you do a comparison of the 4th Gen V8 4Runner versus the GX460(if you already haven't)
Well if Toyota sells 100,000 units for V6 and then drops to 25,000 units I think it will wake them up.
I found a 1 year old 4Runner Venture in pristine like new condition with 4700 miles. The previous owner put a leveling lift on it, better tires, a full ceramic tint, a TRD Pro grill, 4 Raptor lights, a DFi windshield, and a 24 month hand applied graphene ceramic finish protection and then basically never drove it. It was a garage queen. No dirt anywhere on it or in it. Still smelled like it rolled off the transport. You're damn right I bought it.
I just read the 6th gen 'Runner will have 3.4 dual turbo V6 in Hybrid version. That's what I want!!!
Democrats are hurting the auto industry, Toyota won’t be able to make these types of vehicles with good engines because of gas mileage and all this that the Democrats are trying to steer away from, there’s a reason that this engine has lasted so long it’s because it’s good and reliable and then that’s gonna end up changing and it’s only going to change because of Democrats pushing for better gas mileage, terrible
I just picked up a ‘23 4Runner. I really wanted something that has proven reliability and longevity and the current design may not be new but I love the look of them.
Great video David! Thank you!
My 2023 off road pro will be here in February I can't wait. I feel like if I want to trade in on a gen 6 in a few years it will hold its value.
I just received my TRD premium hope it serves me well anything in particular I should look out for thank you and keep up the great work David
