FYI – there is an engine recall affecting Toyota Tundra and Lexus LX models. This Sequoia is not under a recall at this time. For this reason, there is no mention of a recall in this video.
$83,000 is bonkers lol
Nice the grill looks a lot better then the tundra
Toyota is the king of welding in extra steel panels to fool crash test officials!!!! upvoted!!!!!
Need to live in these vehicles at their current price.
Not recalled yet 😂
The biggest con is the price. You'd need to make over $600,000 if you followed the 10% rule to afford it. I doubt it will make one feel that special. But, even at a $125,000 income, these are very difficult to afford. All the tech and all the this and that, but no progress on affordability.
I do like the front end design better than the Tundra.
excellent update and great interior… some of the interior complaints seem to be trim-specific… seems like the higher trims have proper interiors
3rd row packaging is absolutely horrendous
Essentially same platform as tundra… we all know the cons of that
I agree with you about these large SUV's not having enough cargo room. Back when I used to travel for trap shooting a bit, I saw a guy with a Tahoe he had taken all the back seats out. He set it up to sleep in and hold a bunch of camping gear, fishing poles, and his guns. This was the perfect camping rig. I think if the one of the automakers would offer a bare bones full size 4×4 SUV with the 2nd and 3rd row seats as options, a flat cargo area, and power onboard, it would sell like crazy. SUV's are so much easier than pickups to lock up, heat, cool, etc for camping and traveling.
The seat issue is funny to me because they LITERALLY prefaced how they studied the seat in the million mile tundra, fucked up the seat in this generation 🤦♂️
Loose that stupid battery which is the problem with the 3rd row issue. It’s not like the hybrid version is giving you 30mpg or anything close to justify that it can’t carry decent 3rd row passengers or cargo
This thing is gorgeous
I had a 2023 Sequoia Platinum and traded it in last month for a 2024 4Runner. The Sequoia was a great vehicle, but don’t want any part of an engine recall or failure. I will wait until the end of 2025 and all the issues have been sorted.
I love it, but the cost and the new turbo engine, I'll keep my 4runner!
Perhaps you could find out why the vin starts with 7? I thought sequoias were built in Texas plant…?
I wish Toyota will make another sequoia without the hybrid. The battery’s ruin the cargo space which I feel like defeats the purpose of a big suv. Shame because it looks great
$82,000. That’s insane
I bet there will be a recall for the engine since it's a Tundra engine.
If I'm going to have a Platinum or Limited or 1794 trim, then I'd want real Leather and not some fancy vinyl material.
I would buy a Tahoe before the sequoia, the space behind the 3rd seat is much better
I don't know why you can't have a fuel efficient hybrid mode, along with a different power mode. Like the difference between normal and sport mode.
Lack of cargo space. Big problem.
Still looks better than the whole Shoe Box thing running wild these days.
That color is just sick sick sick..omg i love that color..
$83k yes is very expensive. A friend of mine just bought a Tahoe. Not sure the trim but Loaded, leather, sunroof and diesel it was pushing a $100k. So they’re all pretty much crazy expensive
The rear seat is just not acceptable. Too small and terrible cargo space. Toyota phoned this one in.
Glad I bought my $52k 2024 Limited AWD 7-passenger 4Runner over this. 20.5 mpg on long trips, proven reliability.
i FARTED
Looks nice but it has a turd for an engine!
Toyota designed the interior so bad!
Even TRD Jon couldn’t stomach this mess 😅
All this nonsense is coming about due to the shared platform
It is an excuse for design shortcuts
The plus side of this is it should be possible to do massive improvements with a refresh
No much consolation if one dumped a load on this pile
Toyota got away for years with keeping old designs and doing very little to them
People would make excuses that this was for reliability
No Toyota is notoriously penny pinching and they were doing just that
Now they are forced to bring out new designs the penny pinching remains
But this time at a cost in basic quality
Love the looks of it but that third row seat design is what my 2008 Chevy tahoe had – awful. Even my 2017 Tahoe with a full frame and live rear axle folds into the floor. Toyota needs to do better there.
They whiffed big time with the 3rd row and cargo area. Almost makes them non competitive with Tahoe/Expedition/Wagoneer. Not to mention there is no extended length version.
'02 Sequoia owner here, and I have no interest in the new truck. It looks better and has some good gadgets, but I feel my 20 year old rig is still superior in many ways over the new one.
Beautiful but too pricey 😊😊😊😊
Can’t fit a 5’6” person in the third row 😮. This thing is a joke, people buy full size SUV’s to haul people and stuff.
I want to love it – but that entire cargo situation is a mess. Then the idea of buying a Platinum (or any version) without LEATHER seats is crazy. Not going to pay top dollar for a vehicle and ride on my granddad's K-car pleather seats. Wake up Toyota!
Sequoia TRD pro Hybrid engines have Zero recalls!!!!! I have this car the Terra orange TRD pro and those crying about the cargo are stupid!!! The shelve system easily holds its weight and flattens out your storage sooooooooo STFU!!!! It’s a gorgeous and amazing ride for those with a family of 2 and the third row of course is not for adults …. SMH 🤦♂️ yall people are idiots. Just cause it costs 80k yall want it to be a Escalade and jaguar at the same time!?!?! It’s a sport ride not a family car or shit so get over it if you do use it as a family ride. But for being a sport vehicle it sure as fck is nice!!!!
Haters either haven’t driven one or can’t afford it and by afford it I mean pay it off not rent it like majority of Americans who claim to own shit but are giving payments. I got mine cash 💰 no payments. Second ride is a Silverado. This ride puts my Silverado to shame. Love smoking fords and dodges with this also.
