Cars are basically now smartphones. They’re electric not mechanical products – worth peanuts after just a few years, obsolete within a decade.
Easy answer, Because people don't want to buy a car that can be written off because of one tiny little ding and the insurance saying it's unsafe now because of the battery. That and they're completely lacing the soul of a proper car.
I'm so glad I cancelled my Taycan Cross Turismo order. Porsche did it to themselves and saved me a fortune. They had the audacity to raise the price after I'd had it on order for twelve months and made it unacceptable so I pulled out.
Tesla used prices almost dropped by 35% in Australia 🇦🇺
Where are all these depreciated EVs??? The Teslas in Canada are expensive af!
The second hand ev market is too small
Don't buy toasters 😂
Not true lol
Needs updating !!
So the status of owning a Porsche, helped it when compared to other EVs.
Just shows you what a rip off scam car manufacturers are running – and nobody knows if an EV car's battery will be knackered in 10 years time.
Another reason not to buy an electric car even if anyone needed another reason.
Loosing value due to not enough morons around to keep up the hype of electric. Once all the morons have one then sales drop off
A car is one big expense and normal people just don't want that big expense to be even bigger, nobody needs a used electric car unless it's extremely cheap. EVs are advertised as green and cheap to drive, but it has become quite clear to people that they are neither eco-friendly nor cheap.
Highly subjective.LOL. If the price of Gas is going to double within a few years then the resale due to extra demand will rise. So maybe its time to buy a used EV so that you can sell it in a few years. Thats my spin 💫
Simply because EV cars are crap and a government con job. But you keep promoting them like ordinary families can afford one, run one and live with one!
Putting money into an EV is like throwing it away….
Awful video, doesn't tell you "why" they're dropping at all😂
Speaking to the owner of a large Metal Recycler, the reality of recycling Lithium car batteries is that they are almost impossible to recycle economically, these EVs are a future dieselgate for a future generation – but hey who cares.

A rather pointless video. As someone already mentioned a chart showing the depreciation would have been easier and quicker to understand BUT the most relevant info. would be the %age depreciation from new. Again as someone wrote anyone who changes their car every year / 10k miles has more money than sense.

A bit of a pointless video. Of course deprecation increases on electric cars, because people are buying more of them, so there are more to choose from. ICE cars are becoming fewer and have been around longer so their second price is more stable. Soon there won't be any new ice cars made so no doubt the price will go up a little. Moral of the story is that cars are not a good investment if you want to make money.
They're designing these 'throw-away' EVs because they don't want people owning anything. It's far more lucrative to have people on a pay as you go package. You'll be paying a colossal lease fee every month of your driving life. Cheap electricity (which won't last once everyone has an EV) is just a scam to get you all snared. I'm in my late 50s so ICE cars should see me out. I'll never buy an EV. I feel sorry for the kids today because their future in this country looks bleak.
Any car above 30000 isnt worth its price.
Oh Matt, PLEASE bin the music !
If you want an ev I would go for 1 around 5 years old, and it will still have a warranty left for a few years.
Thanks for a great and informative video. The ev people are losers in general.
Title of the video was "WHY used EV values are dropping like crazy". I watched 14 minutes to learn THAT they are dropping but not a word about WHY. Also, the numbers themselves could have been presented in a chart within three minutes…
You don’t need this video anyone knows second have electric cars are a waste of time to buy, batteries are expensive, 100k miles or 7 years they need to be changed etc etc etc
I wanted to buy a used EV because "tHeY aRe SsOoOooo cheAp!" – no. they are not. a used BMW ix1 costs almost the same as new…
Come on uk just let us buy the chinese byd for 7k.
The video is NOT telling WHY this is. So don't use the word WHY in the title! This is just annoying Clickbait!!
You did not mention the small issue of some electric car catch fire 🔥 which has to have an affect on there depreciation as news travels fast.
Car wow YouTube channel is BORING. Bye bye Matt. Unsubscribed, do not recommend, not interested
Or you can do the opposite. You can buy a $200k Porsche for $300k now there is a deal !!!!!! And never drive it so it won’t depreciate just rev it a few times for a YouTube video ..
