Hey Wizard! Thanks for the professional inspection! I have a lot of out of town buyers inquiring on this car and decided to go ahead pay to do a PPI for them. I am actually doing my detailed YouTube video overview on my channel this afternoon and will upload today as well. Who will be the next owner of this special car?
My 2000 CV nickel and dime me.
Fuel pump, Alternator, AC compressor. Clock spring and wiper motors.
Seats very unconfortable.
They used the 2 valve SOHC 4.6 on the F-series until 2010. I have a 2007 F-150 with this engine. It currently has 221k miles, and the only major issue I've had with it was a cracked intake manifold about 8 years ago. It's a terrific engine.
And he cannot emphasize enough that the car is impeccable,
I love this platform
Just bought an 06 mercury grand marquis with 108k was owned by a 60 yr old man and he even had all the repair records
I'll take one in a heartbeat.
Got me one this summer lincoln TC 2005 with 92k and Love It!!!!
Its a beautiful car to me. Probably the milage u get could be a downer if u make lots of miles. But for an around town car i def would take this over a corrola.
A drunk driver wrecked my Corvette and I need a dead cheap and reliable car to use until I get another fun car especially that by brother was about to arrive to my area. I bought a 2004 grand marquis for $2200. I only did an oil change and a coolant flush and drove it straight 32 hours round trip to Key West Florida in the summer. I was a little worried that it will leave me standing on the side of the road but it didn't at all! The only downside was the AC only blowing defroster so I was boiling in the Florida summer but hey the car was all good lol. I still have it and I don’t think I’ll sell it any time soon
Thank you Wizard for your honest opinion. I know You're not a Ford guy, but I have to agree that this is a good platform. I love my '08 Crown Vic PI.
5k repairs every 6 months?? What car has that 😅
Imagine if an FBI agent used this car and went to ALBANY,ny and WASHINGTON dc on a trip around the country for working 😂😂
Yeah in this market a town car with 6 owners and 120,000 miles goes for 6 k 😅 in Florida 😅😅😅😅😅
There is a reason Cletus McFarland loves the Crown Vics. The batch he picked up at police auction was great – got them for a song and most were running just fine, after being rode hard in police service and put up wet. My friend loved Grand Marqs as the family car – sadly he lost two when they were rear-ended at stoplights. They deserved better.
I love it, and I will one of these days get one eventually. I had a Caddilac Sedan Deville and the ride on the big cars is so good. You don't feel the bumps because of the air suspension and the seats are so comfortable it's like sitting on a luxurious couch. The other thing is that I never had any issues with it, ever. I was the second owner and when I wanted to sell it my Dad said don't bother I will give you what you paid for it and he drove it for another 6 years before he sold it. I think I will probably get the Ford Crown Victoria because they are easy to find and cheaper.
I bought a 1989 Grand Marquis for $500 around 2010 with around 200k on it. Drove it for 5 years until overdrive went out at 300,000 miles. Great car.
Look at the prices on CarGurus and I think people have watched this video. Not a lot are selling under $10k, and it is not rare to see a 2003 selling for close to $20k. Crazy
Love putting my ‘07 Grand Marquis on the hwy, set the cruise control to 76, drop in a classic 80’s to 90’s R & B CD and just glide down the hwy at 25 to 26 mpg 😎
I'll take it. I want another town car
Last week I purchased a 01 crown Vic non police model for $3000. It has 44000 original miles and is a beautiful car. I am a young father and hope this car lasts many years.
Drive this puppy through high school and college. I miss her so much 😢
In my country, these type of huge sedans don't exist, it would even be kind of exotic
It's here waiting for you cousin $100,00
My first car at 18 always ran good sadly I needed to pay my rent a sold it
I have a well maintained 85 Benz 300 D… ld put in the top 3 bullet proof cars…..
I went and got me one with less than 60k miles 2006 edition LS model. Thank you for this video. Looking forward to owning it long term. The used car lot is going to fix the driver side power window and he’ll wait for that personal check I wrote for him and I should be able to drive it home sometime next week. And thank you for the tip on the title no title no deal.
I just don't understand why mechanical accessibility isn't a major principle of automotive design. The Germans seem to be almost dead set against it.
34k miles in 22 years is about 125 miles per month. Since it has obviously been garaged and well maintained, I would expect it to look about like it does inside and out. The fact that there are actually coins in the coin-holder says a lot about the previous owner. Guessing they wear a belt AND suspenders!
I bought one for 3k. It was dropped to a low rider. Aside from suspension issues, the thing just refused to break. In any way.
Many of these
V8's will last 400K miles+ but u have to spend $$$ in gas and oil changes and most people dont need half that space, hence they are no longer made.
I own a 2002 Grand Marque which I inherited. It has 105,00 miles on it. Mechanic who services it said in the shape it's in, it's good for 300,000. I'm holding on to it.
I need a car for my long legs. I am currently looking for a car and have been looking at more recently Buick Roadmaster, Mercury Grand Marquis, Ford Crown Victoria, or even land yachts of the 1980s.
This video is what made my mind up of purchasing one of these cars. I bought a very clean 2001 town car, for 1st month it was working and since June it started stalling after 10-15mins of driving. I watched so many videos, researched my issues, replaced every sensor i can find, flushed every liquid, and still nothing. Only thing that temporarily made the car work was a PCM replacement. 3 days later it started stalling again. Car is on its 4th shop right now and im starting to regret getting car. Im sure its reliable but so far noone seems to diagnose the problem.
Yes the 4 6 was a good engine i got a f 150 the engine came from a state trooper car its runs so good
They had a statue of the engineer who designed this at ford but then stock prices started to go down and they decided to stop making their vehicles reliable and easy to work on and tore down his statue….his name is David Long…
i am buying one of those soon picking it up for 2 k a buddy is letting me buy it.
I bought a Crown Vic police package car new in 2002. It was new, but had a few hundred dollars of repaired transit damage. My wife drove it 100 miles per day to work and back, and all maintenance was kept up. At 92k, a valve got carboned up due to being next to where the EGR dumped exhaust in to the engine. This required a head removal to fix the carbon issue. The heads on those require replacement after removal. The whole bill was $4k dollars. The two common issues on these engines are shooting a spark plug out of the head due to loose threads in the head, and warpage of the plastic intake manifold on certain years, which can leak coolant in to the oil. I had much less issues in older models with the 302 V-8. BILL
Just bout a 2010 on Monday with 68k miles. Flex plate broke 5 days later. It wouldn't be such a big deal if this wasn't the first purchase I made after losing everything I owned while going though cancer treatment.
These cars are amazing. I have 2000 Lincoln Town Car 250,000miles. starts first time at 60+ below freezing.
Simply Awesome 👌
The only problem with this one is, if hit in the rear the gas tank can catch fire. I wonder if they ever had a recall on that
