4k too much,
Looks like a decent little car.
Reminds me a little of my old mk4 .5 1.25 fiesta Zetec, just a simple it is what it is no thrills motor. Granted that thing only had a 70 odd horsepower but it was bags of fun on the twisties!
1.0 engine is a totally fail. You will replace the turbine 1 or 2 times in first 100.000 km.
In the US market, the most affordable car available currently is the Hyundai Venue, priced at approximately $19,000. Thus, Dacia is needed to fill the gaps in the entry-level car market.
I do wonder if the media screen is replaceable easily with aftermarket version in future? Used car drivers would appreciate it and would maybe opt to buy from brand later too, it is positioned well to replace it without breaking anything some time later, but not sure how easy it would be. Car makers should make these screens easily replaceable by users.
I plan to buy it in 2 years when the ''new car'' inflated price drops down and some kinks and issues that it has is maybe know, but looks good for me, I do not like to spend a lot of money on cars but I want to drive something more recently made now
I looked this up a while ago…series 3.
Basic cars aren’t basic anymore.
Btw, when I looked up the details, you could choose a cost option automatic.
Driving the Sandero Stepway (with LPG) here with all „luxury“ Extentions in Germany a little over 2 Years (65.000 km) and i love it. Great little car.
And it sells like hotcakes here 🙂
Perhaps the bst car with which to compare the Sandero would be the Suzuki Swift 1.6 manual (the 'sporty' version – I forget the name) which has the same fun factor for the driver as this Sandero.
Seems quite cool for teenagers to as it will be something no one else has and will be new, and as most Teenagers have newer or better Iphones or Samsungs they can still rock there songs. It will be cheap to insure to and you wouldn't care if you get a dent or scratch as you could probably replace it cheaply. Buy a second hand one and you could paint cheaply
Crazy how the prices have increased, here in Spain a few years ago i was looking at a duster, starting price was €13,000 now the Sandero starts above that
If you lease a Dacia, you need to go back home live with your parents… Get a 0% purchasing credit card and use the limit to spread it out. Pay the rest in cash.
Except for the keyless start, I like the Sundero, especially in that color. ❤😊
No good, you can lease an Ibiza for the same.
I have a Polestar 2, fully kitted, it’s my first car, it’s speakers rattles too, lol. Looking to getting a Dacia now, I realized you don’t really need more than going from A-B.
I want a car for £7995 and I don't care if I have to wind up the windows.
Paint at pause 650 pause pounds
It looks like thinly painted pressed tin and the white accents are horrid.
They got rid off the 6 speed gearbox? I wonder why, was there an issues?
There is no point having a fast car in the uk anymore. With a speed camara on every corner, driving is not fun . Its all about getting from A to B. Hence the need for a car like this.
Good to have a straight forward review of an affordable car.
MG is the new Dacia !
Good review love cars with steel wheels myself wouldnt buy a sandero myself after the loss of the 6 speed makes more sense to go stepway or used Sandero forbthe box if you want the value.
Considered this then bought a swuft for the fact its a better car in nearly every way as a new buy except size.
Hmmmm, this tells me there is no such thing as cheap brand new car ownership here in the UK, and that's a great shame.
He's good, nice sandero review.
It sounds lovely. Honestly, my daughters Polo is such a hoot. It reminds me of old school motoring, where you drove the car and felt the roads, instead of tech driving everything.
This car looks similar, but slightly lesser materials inside.
Both have “hand break”. Or is it brake?
I bought a 10 year old 50000 mile stepway model with a 1.5 diesel engine a few months back and honestly it is by a long shot the best car ive ever owned, although I do get what you said about the stepway model defeating the point of a Dacia my wife is disabled and struggles with low cars and that slightly lifted suspension makes a huge difference for her, i would recommend it to anyone especially if you have a family and are on a budget the boot is massive for a car this size
The key for success in Dacia story is realizing the majority of people are actually not rich giving a thousand here and a thousand there for all sort of useless features. The majority of people just want a goad, reliable and easy to maintain vehicle. Giving the current economic times I think all major car makers should re-think what "affordability" really means.
So far I have it for 3 years and I dont complain at all and I have the 67hp motor in Essential trim. Both of which are not avaliable anymore. However it suits my needs perfectly it's extremly economical for what it is since I get realisticly 4,9 to 5,2 l/100km( dont know how much that is in MPG) and other then ocasional electrical problems aka colison warnig seing ghosts aparently and realy poor sound insulation I love my first new car . So I recomend it
cheap in uk still expensive in romania…
Great honest to God review and video quality, thanks !
Better fun driving a slow car fast than a fast car slow !
My 41,000 Euro VW electric id3 has rattles, turn up the stereo and the doors sound like they'll fall off there's so much vibration, various rattles depending on temperature outside, oh and there's no rear door speakers ffs, absolutely shocking ! I got the larger battery tour 5 trim, but at the cost it's a disgrace not to install rear door speakers.
I don't like screens in cars, too distracting, now Dacia are introducing digital instrument clusters which I despise.
Most people have smart phones so why do we need to make cars more expensive by offering in car entertainment systems and more and more screens ?
Tomorrow I'm going to my local Dacia dealer to take a look at some of these cars, I hope they still offer LPG ?
I drive a high tech VW electric id3 and can't wait to get rid of it, been 9 years in electric cars and all of them have suffered high depreciation but nothing like 2024, it's so bad that I'm struggling to find any dealer to take my EV….
What's turned me off EV ? well, they are cheap to run but too expensive to buy, depreciation is very high , range, recharge times at public chargers and queues, I've had situations where it's taken me over 2 hrs by the time I wait in a queue and charge my own car. Anyway I won't make this costly mistake again !
I hardly use all the tech in my car, it's all touch screen, climate, radio etc and it's very sluggish and irritating when trying to change climate settings on the road or radio, it has voice control and it will turn on the radio just fine but ask it to turn on a particular station it could take 30 seconds to search or just tell you it can't find it. I hate all this tech with a passion.
I test drove a Kia Stonic 1.0L the other day and loved the simplicity, manual climate controls and changing gears, it made me realise how boring electric cars are and it's a long time since I had so much fun. I also loved the analogue instrument cluster in the Stonic, very refreshing and easy on the eye.
The Stonic was nicer to sit and the climate control knobs and buttons looked nicer than those in the Dacia in this video, however, I do not care about Auto climate, the simplicity of manual climate can't be beaten really.
I can guarntee if you were to try some of the touch screen only controls you'd beg for the controls from a 1995 van lol especially when the infotainment crashes and you're left with nothing, no climate, no radio, no speedo etc……..
So tomorrow I test some Dacia cars.
I guess I'm no longer willing to pay high prices for cars and all the tech, now all that interests me is getting from A – B as cheap as possible and while EV will do it a lot cheaper per mile ( home charging only , public is a lot more expensive ) there is more to running a car than fuel costs and ev suffer high depreciation and you might find it almost impossible to use it as trade in.
But having said all that I really did like the Kia stonic lol . Definitely worth checking out. My greatest issue now is trying to get rid of this horrible electric car !!!
Traded in my old volkswagen Polo at the dealership. Got my sandero expression for 9998 euro because of this a few weeks ago.
