Ev's are a scam and a throat punch to the American consumer and the middle class. The vast majority of people I personally know can't afford a monthly payment more than $200 and new car payments are not doable by low income families.

Maybe it's the ridiculously high prices for EVs? Or the battery replacement at the EV's half-life the cost of which is that of an inexpensive gas-powered car. Or maybe it's the special EV tires you need to replace at 3x the rate of a gas-powered car. Or perhaps it's about the terrible range that even under the best conditions showcases how preposterously over-inflated the range numbers are. If not any of those perhaps it's the recharge rates that take hours instead of minutes… or the lack of charging stations on any given road trip. Or maybe it's about some concerns over the environment – what becomes of EV batteries at the end of their lives OR just exactly how is the electricity used to charge batteries being generated (usually, it's by fossil fuels). Pick your poison, but EVs are a total scam.
If ev makers are laying off. There will not be a switch. Cant demand only buying ev if there is no supply. There allready is no demand.
I would buy a ev that can be recharged on solar. Would be sweet. Of course a hypbrid that charges on solar even better.
I hope Ford brings back cars like the Fusion and Focus, my Focus ST is the best performing compact I've ever owned and I'd buy another!

For the consumer, EVs may be uninsurable as repair shops dare not park crashed EVs in their stockyard due to likelihood of battery fire destruction.
