If you're out of a vehicle, rent one and take some time to find another. These dealers are a F'n joke, give them the finger. I used trucar to buy and it was much easier and cheaper.
The Rav4 is tiny and doesn't have any room in it. I bought a new Caddy XT4 AWD for $40,450. I can't see paying a premium for a penalty box Toyota. Just a couple years ago manufacturers in general were talking about keeping inventory low so they could gouge as much as possible from their customers. Serves them right.
I need a Grand Highlander Hybrid… But I’m settling for a Nissan Pathfinder… Toyota is out of their mind! Maybe in a couple of yrs… If we don’t travel to see family abroad late next yr… Two birdies to Toyota 🖕😡🖕
Stop over paying for vehicles people.
How much should you pay for a 2024 Corolla Hatchback XSE? If MSRP is like $27K on the website, and dealers SRP shows like $29K, what should I expect to see on the window price you think?
What is too much for that car? Its marketed as economical in price so it makes it hard to know if I should walk away or not. I dont need to buy right now, I could wait, but I have a buyer ready for my current car so its more like, I would be doing them a favor to sell to them now.
Any thoughts comments on this appreciated
So what i got from this is that Toyota got greedy? Is that right?
I’m telling you, private party sells are the place to shop. Screw all dealerships.
Toyota is acting like they are a luxury brand like Rolex. People like Toyota because they are reliable and affordable. But now they are no longer affordable.
It’s a shame for Toyota. I have noticed they have been jacking up used car prices to exceed new car pricing. Ridiculous.
I am a Toyota person but now starting to entertain other brands.
I appreciate someone calling out Toyota because they don't care, and I hope it catches up with them. I would be buying a new Grand Highlander Max, but I REFUSE to buy a $60k vehicle before I test drive it. I also REFUSE to buy any car, in a color I DON'T WANT. The dealership calls, "We have a blue one!" "Good for you, I want a white one!" They think I'm being demanding (HA! I only want to pay for something I actually want…weird.), and I think they've lost their minds. My car is in great shape, so I'm fortunate to have time on my side, and I feel for everyone who doesn't. I will continue to show them a missed customer, and I will FOREVER have a terrible taste in my mouth about Toyota, because they LIKE their current status. You can't convince me Chevy can find chips, but a Japanese auto maker can't. The whole thing is meant to give us the finger…"You'll take what I give you, and you won't throw a fit" doesn't work on me. I'm really surprised so many customers are good with it.
No one should pay more than $32,000 for the base and $36.000 for a fancy model. Come on people use you heads !!
If that dealers is charging nuts prices shop around .Be willing to drive several miles to get a better deal but bottom line is don’t buy unless you have no other choice.
World Economy shut down only reason it is
Was waiting for a RAV4 Prime, and ended up buying a Volvo XC 40 Recharge.
I just bought a 2021 Jeep grand cherokee. Had only 17,000 miles check engine light came on twice in two days. Had it one week and traded it in on a Toyota Camry. I'll never buy another make again.
This is complete nonsense. Dealers in Arizona still can only get a few at a time. As soon as they come in, they are sold.
What bothers me about Toyota is their aggressive hybrid manufacturing. Toyota is switching to all hybrid on most of their models. The problem is hybrids don't make sense for all car owners. Some of us don't drive enough to keep the hybrid battery properly charged. Then there some of us that live in cold climates that render the hybrid system ineffective. As for me, I'm fit both categories. I gave hybrid a try when I purchased a 21 Venza. It's a great running car, luxurious, and dependable. But during the winter months, my MPGs drop to the low 20s and I got a hybrid system malfunction warning. The dealership told me I need to spend more time on the highway. Then to cap it off, Wisconsin DMV charges $75 annually to hybrid owners because we're not paying enough taxes on the pump. So I got absolutely no benefit from owning a hybrid. And so I traded it in for a Camry. But as Toyota is going all-out on manufacturing hybrids, my Camry is probably the last Toyota I will ever own.
I submitted an application for a Cavalry blue Camry xse nine months ago. Still not one available. I guess from the factory I gave up months ago. Bought a Lexus last week. Certified preowned I’m just gonna wait to see if I hear anything ever.
I have one in shop for 2 months with NO parts to fix it told me they had one from October 2023 waiting for trans and still no parts I won’t ever buy another one
Why are you wasting your time walking the lot, just go on the website and see the inventory
Just buy a certified toyota and get a longer warranty, son just bought a 22 Corolla Hybrid with 12k miles, for 22K
still driving my 05 Prius with 280K, paid 21k in April 2005 for it
Most companies are having tons of cars sitting and not selling, while Toyota can't keep cars in stock even at HIGH prices!
Its not a Toyota problem, its a Toyota Dealer problem! Dealers are turning down allocations the keep the Vehicle prices artificially high. Toyota Dealers are doing this on purpose. Customers are stupid enough to buy the vehicles so Dealers will keep doing this.
