New Delhi: State-owned Oil and Pure Gasoline Company (ONGC) has found crude oil and pure gasoline in two blocks in Mumbai offshore, the corporate mentioned on Thursday with out giving particulars of reserves discovered.
The discoveries, which have been named ‘Amrit’ and ‘Moonga’, had been made within the blocks that the corporate gained in current open acreage licensing rounds.
In an announcement, the agency mentioned it “has made discoveries of oil and gasoline in MBS171HAA-1 (Amrit) in OALP (Open Acreage Licensing Coverage) block MB-OSHP-2017/1 in Mumbai Offshore (SW) on the Arabian Sea.”
“There’s one other exceptional discovery in MBS182HDA-1(MBS182HDA-A) named ‘Moonga’ in OALP exploration Block in Mumbai Offshore.”
ONGC mentioned an in depth evaluation of the discoveries was in progress.
“With these discoveries, ONGC continues its spectacular streak within the OALP blocks by making new discoveries in consecutive years,” it mentioned.
ONGC Director (Exploration) Sushma Rawat mentioned that with these notable findings within the OALP-I and OALP-III rounds, ONGC reaffirms its exploration dedication to unlocking the huge potential of India’s hydrocarbon assets together with reserves accretion, strengthening the nation’s vitality safety.
“ONGC’s relentless pursuit of exploring untapped areas yielded these finds. By diligently analyzing geological knowledge and using superior applied sciences, ONGC efficiently recognized substantial oil and gasoline reserves, reaffirming the untapped potential throughout the OALP blocks,” it added.
