I would like the smallest and cheapest one. I realy dislike unnecessary large heavy EV's that 99% of the time is used to transport 1 person.
And that is what we mostly see on the roads. Status symbols. Why is there a change from ICE to EV in the first place? . . . .Yes, to make transportation more environmentally friendly. You dont get that with all those huge 7 seaters and MPV's.
The reason they're "pre-releasing" this information is that they want their customers to "hold on", because they now see that they've completely sh*t the bed, and they know that they can't catch up for an average of 3 years per sector.
So they're effectively demanding that their loyal customers ignore what the Chinese are doing and wait for 3 years… in the hope that, in that time, the parent company will do something other than make more false steps.
I suppose that this is at least better than some companies (I certainly NEVER mentioned GM, or any of the Japanese companies) that seem completely determined to bury their heads in the sand.
I used to think that The Electric Viking was talking out of his *rse, but now I really do think that most "Legacy" car brands are going to be destroyed by the EV revolution, and they really have only got themselves to blame.
i will go for the small one
I'm interested in the small one, but the id2 looks better to me as I don't want a fake SUV, just a normal small car.
No danger of a small affordable convertible then.
It’s just a shame that in 2023 the only EVs Skoda sells are overly expensive SUVs. They should have launched with the £23k model
Bit weird that VW is fine with Skoda competing at exactly the same price points as VW. Wish they'd differentiate them more. Like they could've tried to get closer to £20k with the ID2 equivalent with a bit less tech/ quality. VW takes the midmarket and Cupra goes premium/ sporty.
Six new cars from Skoda, great. All using the VW 'old' MEB platform, not so great. Come on guys, move with the times
Call me what you like because it's valid but i just can't get past the fact that it's still a Skoda! ugh it's this kind of stupid snobbery that's gonna come back and bite me one day! lol
Shame they don’t spend £5 on the horrific infotainment system !
Hope they will not be too late, Tesla and China is taking over Europe with cheaper and better cars, nothing they can do about it, except hurry
Don´t need, don´t want SUV. Should be outlawed!
All great for Europe, but No China or North America…
Boring with these concept cars. More interested about real existing car that you can buy.
I do like an estate. Hope they bring it to market ASAP. But I do wish car designers would get over their love affair with massive wheels. They're unnecessary, increase rolling resistance, decrease fuel efficiency and eat into cabin space.
I went from a BMW to an Audi to a skoda Enyaq and haven't looked back! Well, that's not strictly true, being electric, I have in fact looked back at a few BMW's and Audi's in the rear view mirror!
Love the Idea of an Estate car but also like the look of the Enyaq🎉 replacement. So impressed with the build and handling of the Enyaq NEVER would have thought I would be a Skoda convert!
Skoda no longer do more for less. Everything is now an optional extra like all the German manufacturers. I looked at buying another Octavia and they don’t make my spec anymore. It’s all winter pack this, and driver pack that!
I love the way this man speaks, don't know why, his tone of voice is just nice to listen to. And the info is just great, with a bit of subtle humour.
Looks like a decent range, although I can't see any demand for a car with a 36kWh battery by 2025, the minimum will be 50kWh by then.
Love the channel, but this is just legacy European manufacturer clutching at straws with nothing ACTUALLY to sell us.These are just pipe-dreams with pipe-dream prices to cling on to people’s interest.
The id3 is £40k NOW… and you cannot get one….do people really believe that a new id2 / Skoda will be made available at 17k less ?? If you do….you are as bad as them
Awesome Stuff! All these cars would be based on Volkswagen’s MEB platform. Hopefully by 2028-2030 VOLKSWAGEN – Škoda will localise their electric platform MEB in India 🇮🇳 as they have done their ICE platform MQB-AO-IN
Would love to see the estate in Oz, but unfortunately most Aussies prefer SUVs
Really just a PR exercise then – and a lot can happen between now and 2026. That £23k EV can suddenly become a £30k or more EV due to 'unforseen circumstances'. I'd certainly like to see the return of saloon/hatch family sized cars and a move away from godawful SUV's.
Right now, car manufacturers love the high price/high margin EV market, which is why most are announcing a big incease in profits, yet pricing out the average buyer at the same time. They'd like to see you sell a kidney first to try and afford the 2-3x monthly lease cost of their latest EV that they've now crammed a 100kWH battery into.
The reveal we need to see are physical heater controls and back lit proper buttons.
All new EV's look exactly the same now, so they could have shown hundreds! 🙃
I would prefer VW and Skoda would work on producing cars and not models. There are so many models, but you can only buy so few of them.
The “Small” strategy with a smaller, fast-charging battery hits the sweet spot for those looking for affordability and the ability to charge quickly on occasional road trips.
What’s the point in 6 more? They can’t even build the 1 they have now! Cancelled my Enyaq order raised 9 months ago as 2024 is now the estimated build time. Cancelled and bought a Tesla mY!
Australia might get one of these by 2030, for display purposes only
Very promising looking cars and a hot Tom presenting too 😜
That smallest one is for India specific market.
I really liked that way to show coming models 😀 And yes.. A Estate is my favorite.
Which one would I like? None of them; they're VWs.
This range lies need calling out,it’s a lie just like mpg rubbish car makers give us
A lot can change between these vague mockup ideas and production time.
By then the Chinese will be killing the European industry and surpassing them in technology and, probably, design.
VW are progressing better than most legacy makes but were too late to the party.
I’m sorry, but 2 to 3 years is too long to wait for their first electric cars.
estate will be killer
can North America benefit from these offerings? …no?
…what about just Canada?
Yes, Cana- what? Why the f*ck not?
The ID4? Yeah but that one sucks; what about the smaller cheaper fun-to-drive ones?
…right. America. Forgot that.
