Brainwashed info.
Big question: I love every video that i have seen. Very comprehensive. Here is my question, I am thinking of buying one and removing the seats with a modular design for van life, only to take out the modules and put back the seats. Do you see any problems with the new one, the air bags, etc???? Thanks again for the great videos.
13:45 Sienna deserved to buy just because of that button.
PS: 2nd is the best.
Wow, impressive review. Very interesting to see the bottom of the vehicle. It is super clean. Thank you for walking through the vehicle thoroughly. Very informative!
Why would that big screen need to be bigger?
I'm so HAPPY to still be rolling in my 1998 Sienna XLE with 275,000 miles. It has atleast 100,000 to go. Such a good reliable ride ( only additive used is MARVEL MYSTERY OIL).
Fatal ?????
00:19-20 The third row seats dont clamp down! Going over speed bumps, like in parking lots, makes a very disturbing thumping as they fly up and down! Also I’ve seen complaints that going over a big bump will throw one of them all the way up into full upright – which seems unlikely but what if a person (a kid?) was in one seat and the other suddenly came up and walked their arm?? Very bad design, seems unsafe, not to have a way to clamp them down!
Such a comfortable van! They just took the storage out of the rear, and removable second row seats, but made the front town (and seconf row too) seating so big and comfy!
What steps to take second row out? How can I silence or defeat any error codes or airbag issues? Will my dash Christmas tree? It’s a deal breaker we camp and haul sporting goods in our sienna
Seems to me that the Kia Carnival is designed much better but it's not a hybrid and is a gas hog in comparison. But maybe there's enough cost savings on the purchase price to make up the difference?
I actually want a fast start mini-Van lol 😅 having the engine cut off at every red light doesn't tickle my fancy.
Since the engine is incline 4 vs v6. I know in other videos you did mention that not a nice idea to go with i4 vs V6 for big car. Just needed your opinion or suggestions would hybrids be any different?
I am 6'2". I have no problem driving the van, no head room issues at all!
Its too expensive. Same with Pacifica. Kia Carnival has better interior design their most proven drivetrain for thousands less. Better day to day experience for less money.
Down voted for being a click bait title. I watched thinking rhere was a serious safety concern and instead was met with low availability bs.👎
don't they use run flat tires on those, I worked for Toyota in 2014 and that's what they ran they didn't offer a spare
If the 3rrd row seats are down why worry about them popping up. ? You will have cargo on them most likely. Why else would you have them down. ?
I’m so disappointed as I wanted to buy a new sienna. Cvt, 4 cyl, battery’s under the front seat no way will it see 300,000 miles.I’ll have to find a 2020 from an original owner😥
This is the most eye opening critique from AMD. only a Gm, Ford or Chrysler owner would buy this sad sienna. No self respecting Toyota owner would purchase one😂
2022 Sienna driver display is washed out by overhead sunlight coming through the windshield. Very annoying. Would help if dash lights would stay on during the day. FWIW those missing the spare tire, it is not 'hard' to buy the replacement trim and tire carrier from Toyota for $300-400 or so and install a spare. There is a youtube video on doing this. For driving in a 100 radius of home may not need a spare, but on long trips a flat can be very expensive. When I bought my Sienna (2022) it was a 2 month wait and you could go on line, see what was coming over the next 3 months and select one and reserve it. One local dealer wanted $2k over list, but another asked only MSRP. FWIW on a 4600 mile trip last May it got 37 mpg and a tank of gas had a 725 mile range.
Fantastic Review. Thank you
Would you be able to do a review on the 2024 Kia Carnival? Thanks in advance!
What’s your thoughts/experience lifting a Toyota Sienna…does it cause issue with the drive train?
my first mini van was a used 1995 Olds Silhouette. 9 years old when I bought it, ran like a Toyota of that day. The seats removed, and I transported an upright piano gifted to me a thousand miles to my new home. Then the auto industry introduced stow and go van seats, the seats literally disappeared into the floor! No more making space in my garage to keep the seats when I cargo'ed the van. Segueway to today. You could have knocked me over with a feather when you advised the Sienna cargo area seats are rigid and unremovable, in techno-heaven 2023 nonetheless! Fit and finish issues now. And water in the oil, we called that sludge in the 1989 Bronco II V6. From 5mph safety bumpers to no bumpers at all. Is Toyota in a backwards time machine, regressing and emulating the horrific quality and unresponsive nature of US Auto industry of the 1970's-80's? Unlike the scene in Gung Ho where Michael Keaton pretended to clean the non-existant Japanese sedan windshield his crew had just rolled off the assembly line, and the Japanese executive said to him "you makea me laugh"; I am not laughing at the descent from Quality Control perfection you receive when you buy a domestic-made Toyota today. Sad to learn.
Warning!!!! MAKE SURE TO GET A MODEL THAT HAS A SPARE TIRE!
The fact that the spare wheel is optional on this Sienna is simply a triumph and a victory of common sense and good taste.
In Europe in many brands we don't have the option of a spare wheel or even one that we call 'biscuit', it is narrower and smaller with which you can not go more than 80 km/h 49 mph but no, they give you a puncture kit like on a bicycle and if you have to change the wheel then you must call roadside assistance…
Something totally sick and obscene and a sign that our extinction is near.
Thank you so much for the very detailed and interesting video for the Sienna.
Few questions.
1. Is this a PHEV?
2. Does the main light have Dynamic High Beam? it is called in many different names by different manufacturers. Ex: ADB (Adaptive Driving Beam) by Jaguar, BladeScan Adaptive High Beam System (AHS) by Lexus, LED array Adaptive High Beam by Toyota. It is not an automatic high beam OR low beam. It is on high beam all the time EXCEPT for the preceeding or oncoming traffic where it would be low beam.
Does ANY Toyota or Lexus Model in the US have this feature?
If not, when would it be available on what model/s ?
How does so much air get into the crank case to allow such condensation to deposit so much water?
I owned an SSR Razkull 125 cc motorcycle in Montana. When it was brought for the first oil change, the mechanics told me that the oil was full of water. They looked at me like I had been running it through puddles or something. Even so, how would water get into it anyway. My trips to work and to the grocery were just three to five miles.
Hey car care nut you should really start removing those underneath covers in your reviews from here on in so we can see how things are under there for things like starter removal, cv shaft replacement etc! Please and thank you.
So, what is the FATAL FLAW?
Does this come with a parking sensor?
During covid went to view dealers and pricing for Seinna's but at the auto show prices were listed $41, 43, and 45,000 LE, XSE, XLE, Limited, PLATINUM ect. Talking to multiple dealers…. sorry their is a shortage and waiting list…. Sir I have these comming in for $65, 68,000, want to put down a deposit with no refunds, and this doesn't include tax, additional warranty and other additions so add around $15-20,000. So $80-90,000 for a Sienna, $20,000 mark up! No thanks, purchased a 2011 Garaged kept XLE, AWD, leather, recliner seats, all the bells and whistles, looks brand New even though its a 2011!!! and in my opinion looks better than the new Generation, I have the V6, the new one only comes in a 4cyl and is smaller on the inside and front bumper is too low, see them all the time on the road cracked and scratched up. Paid 11,000 from a private owner, did the brakes and maintenance myself, saved over $50,000. It has 130,000 miles and these can go over 300,000 miles. 2011-2018/19 Sienna's are pretty much the same vehicle. Buying a new vehicle is a money trap/ bad investment. I have 4 vehicles and rotate them for driving so I plan to keep this for 30 years, my last saturn 2002 sc2 lasted 19 years, so I bought another 97 sc2 with 73,000 miles this one will last for another 20 years too. New cars are over priced. NO THANKS!
I have a 2017 sienna I bought used in 2018 for 18k. It's gone up in value every year! 😂 It's my best investment 😅
Do you know if there are better products of the Hitachi shocks?
So many great features and reliability and not to mention great gas mileage. But when you compare head to head the Pacifica blows this out of the water with features and comfort. I would love to see a reliability report on both Pacifica and Sienna.
