That gap will cause distortion, the metal will pull in towards the gap this is old school fit it up flush
Did ya tap it in and bondo or was it pretty flat after a grind?
There should be no gap.what do you think your welding 5/16😅
you did an amazing job only thing I would have done different as make my Gap a little tighter the bigger the Gap the more it can move pull in or Warp metal is crazy it'll start pulling every witch Way
if I'm doing body panels I like to set my Gap the thickness of the wire I use 0.35 so that's my Gap you want some Gap but not too much not to little
Is this a MK 1 Granada or MK 3 Cortina..?
Umm…Alum what? Love the accent!
Couldn't understand a word of this!
It'll look amazing in a year after it rushes through
In the amateur version. It is better to weld the internal support profile. It is easier to weld the rest. The problem with joints in the middle line is that MIG welding does not make sense. The welds will break after grinding. This is the only way to do it with TIG. But with internal profile connections MIG. According to the advice of the car factory. There will be no later corrosion defects. It is important. Will be useful. Take into account.
What are those two clamps holding the metal together called?
0,6 or 0,8 ?? 🤔
Look like 0,8
0,6 mm welding is the best for that
Good job
flux core is superior in the long run……practice makes perfect
How do you get rust protection when/ if there is no access behind?
Contrary to popular belief cooling your welds is actually not good. It causes more movement by shrinking it….
Nice work! Are yo using 0.6mm or 0.8mm wire and what Mig and Gas are you using?
How do you get the little blocks back from behind the panel on those clamps
That's a big gap
The old aluminum bar heat sink trick…….
Very nice job
what is the name of those "metal locks" in the gap between the panels?
We use a wet rag to keep it from over heating and distorting 😊
There's nothing wrong with an overlap
Nice job, neat welds.
Ok.
"Hammer and dolly"
Fancy a little slap and tickle lmao
Lovely nicely done
Are you using the flat edge as a heat soak or to just keep if flat
What’s a job like this cost?
Those aren't welds, just a line of tacks! 🙄
Where are you from
انا اعمل في دهان السيارات لذالك اريد الدخول الئ امريكا هل يستطيع احدا مساعدتي ❤❤
After welding, only outside portion is painted.so will it rust from inside?
👍👍👍
what do you think of laser welding for autobody work, have you tried it?
Thats a crazy speech impediment
Actually the worst way of doing a butt joint. You need a space in between and a plate from the back holding both sides at the same time .
Right, but what about the cars computer? Just disconnect battery and main ground, or…?
