Interesting having calibrated wax haha I couldn’t tell if you actually put any of the angle in after the toque on that wrench, does it measure angle or just torque?
I use plastiguage by throwing it in the trash and paying someone else to use plastiguage. I had to use that crap years back, but good god that was enough for me. Lol
So I have an E34 525 …when I got my cylinder head back from the engineers it makes a really loud ticking sound when I start it and idol…what can be the problem and how can I fix it myself

When he pulled out a tool that costs almost as much as my monthly rent I felt a deep emptiness inside. I'll get there one day until then it's harbor freight for me😩
Make sure that there is no oil on the crank journals or bearings, I once had a colleague who added oil after cleaning everything off. His readings were all over the place and fingers were being pointed at the machinist!
Watching other dedicated rebuild channels you can measure id and od without crank installed just fine with regular gauges. Every channel i see that do a variety of mechanics use plastigauge, any channel i see who focus on engine rebuilds and machining use regular gauges.
Don't wanna be a know it all, just wanna mention alternatives.
$800+ torque wrench…..
Tryin to understand this made my head hurt, no lie-

Is this chambered in .303 British Imperial?¿?¿?
So dishonest this was another milwaukee ad wasnt it. Now I know I need a ultra precise ipad torque wrench fawk 😂
"I came in for a 2.99$ plastigage and I left with a 2,999.00 torque wrench I dont know tf happened"
How would you even measure clearance with a micrometer.

❤ Plasigage
М5? На моторе м30?😂
Thats not a strip of wax that's a hair of wax
Thank you sir !❤

That’s cool
This video was made just to show off his birthday present $700 Milwaukee torque wrench. Anyway it’s nice.

Plastigauge is intended for tolerance control, not accurate measurements for e.g machining.
Don't run that motor too high, because that will melt the wax.
I first use this in the mid 70’s, have no idea when it first came out.
so how does this work just go based off the smudge ?
cant you just measure the Crank shaft journals?
plastiguage???your machinist isnt trustworthy?
Can also be used to find a out of round crankshaft
That new to me. Wow
amazing

I used to deliver a lot of these things as a parts delivery driver never knew what it was for till now thanks for some info on this cool tool
everything is cool in this video
Inches? What back water country is this
We use plastigage when installing pumps to verify clearances on radial bearings. First use had me sold
Why does everything have to be electronically 😂
Don't forget to clean it off with a wire wheel
Nice torque wrench
