Higher insurance and car registration sort make up for not paying gas.
I saved over 400$ in gas so yeah tesla saves you allot on gas man, that is straight from my tesla app from all the up to owning this car which is about 6 months! people definitely need to get a tesla they are amazing, my insurance is only 835$ a year full coverage
Right on Denniscw, there are so many variables, it’s hard to even average. It depends on what year, make, model, condition of the vehicle you’re comparing to. As mentioned, insurance, plus tires, @ home charging station set, etc. cancel savings from gas and maintenance.
The vast majority of people charge at home and only charge to 80%. 100% charges are mostly for long trips.
NYC home electricity cost is 30 cents per kWh (Supply charge + Delivery Charge + 4.5% sales tax) which means charging up the Model Y will cost $ 22.80. Add the additional car insurance for the Model Y (around 25% more than X5), you are actually paying similar annual cost as compared to an ICE vehicle in NYC anyways. Basically no savings. Keep in mind that electricity price keeps going up.
This guy is a complete moron!! He talks and talks and says really dumb comments
i have a honda clarity phev that i bought for $23k and drive it 99%EV… insurance cost is low too. The lowest cost of ownership is the Honda Clarity PHEV.
Tires !!!
0.068 cents a kWh in my state, insurance is sub 100 if you are 35 plus. So Tesla is the best deal in terms of utility and performance. RAV4 prime might be a better saver if only the price was MSRP, but they ask almost $50000 when rarely available.
I had a 2022 Tesla model Y and my registration was $700 to renewal. Good thing I sold it. You don’t really save much money with an EV. Stick with a ICE car for now
PPF on a tesla is essential
I drive a ram 1500 lifted with huge tires and get 14.5mpg. My model y is a MASSIVE savings. Savings are relative to where you are coming from. I pay less that .06 cents off peak.
Is autopilot as unpredictable at times as people say (phantom breaking/doing the worst thing at the worst time)?
Maybe talk about the environmental saves, sustainable energy not necessarily money saves…..🤔
Another maintenance consideration is tires. EVs tend to run 45 + psi. Regular ICE 35 psi. That's for range and due to battery weight. Be sure to properly inflate tires, or face excess tire wear and associated premature replacement costs
7500 rebate is misleading!! You only get that if you owe money into federal. I’m 40 years old and never had to pay money into that.
Def a bit more to maintain on an ICE car. Fuel pumps, starters, alternators, of course prices vary by model car… I say EV ftw
We bought a Nissan in dec 2021 and have spent $500 (9000 miles) on electricity and $50 on tire fixes. Electric cars have the lowest run rate over 10 years and unlike tesla Nissan does not burn tires.
I just went to tower federal credit Union and there rates are completely different than what you showed today on YouTube? Can you advise. Thanks
Here in Santa Clara county the cheapest EV rate plan is 0.24 cents per kWh. It’s infuriating seeing California being expensive with gas and now electric rates in comparison with the rest of the country.
If I get free charging at work 3 days a week, is it worth the extra cost vs a new accord?
In San Diego County, the EV plan that I have is $0.10 per Kw which isn't bad. I hardly noticed a difference in my electric bill on my Rubicon 4xe. My commute is around 25ish miles per day and I never use the motor except on weekends for longer distance travels..
I had a 2020 Ram 2500 Power Wagon, and that thing was costing my on average $600 to $800 per month for gas. That's of course when fuel sky rocketed over $6 per gallon..
I think these electrical companies will eventually start charging much more once people covert to EV's
