Unions had and have their purpose but as they managed to usher in business regulations onto companies, there has been no balance on regulations on unions. They grow in size and power and become political and corrupt. They resemble the operations of racketeering like in the Mafia / crime syndicates. For example, the UAW, or the police union. Just look at their history of how many were eventually indicted and found guilty of criminal activity. These were cops! There has to be a check and balance for both sides of the table or we end up with a lopsided situation where the once corrupt corporation has been rectified, but the union swells to now become the corrupt entity. We've seen it in the teachers' union, the UPS workers union as well.
The claims from the Autopilot labelers sound silly. The bathroom break complaint again. Except it was more evident in Amazon's case where they were forced to piss in a jug or crap into a plastic bag while out on deliveries. These are two physical jobs. While these princesses are sitting in a big air conditioned building sitting comfortably in front of a computer, with possibly headphones listening to music. And they complain about using the can?? I'm sure they can go if they needed to go. Try drinking less caffeine, then you won't need to go as often. This is like the Twitter woked employees complaining about being laid off for lack of productivity and hours spent actually working and not wasting time consuming all the perks.

Stock options are great. What is does not provide, is addressing your present working conditions. Sure, just move on. Find another job. You’re living paycheck to paycheck, trying to keep the wife happy and the kids fed. Not Tesla’s fault, but the stress at work is becoming unmanageable for you. HR is employer bias. Good luck and try not to paint yourself in a corner.
Unions are the bane of productivity. They protect the weak and lazy and through monkey wrenches into progress. Solid NO to unions!

Tesla has too many smart employees so it seems impossible that there would be enough idiots trying to form a union.
Unions have been very important in the past and might be even today , at least for monitoring/advocating workers conditions. That said, while working some years in the german car-industry (assembly-line) nowadays unions became more or less a symbol for blocking anything useful, being corrupted to the bone and just being a pain in the ass.
Don’t these employees also get stock based compensation?

Those stupid idiotic people want to become lazy workers. That's why most people form unions in the first place. If they don't like working hard then they should leave. They know where the doors are. Elon pays his worker more than other companies in the world for those same positions! I hope Tesla fires them so they can join the woke lazy former Twitter workers.

I spent my entire 30+ year career as a union lineman. Better pay, safety, and insuring the company honors "the deal" are all core values. Lower quality/production demands are antithetical to a good union yard (higher quality and production is our selling point). In my experience, this kind of stuff only happens in the northeast (rare).

Unions are good, learn about our history of labor.
In about all of Europe, unions are good thing. Even business owners know that. The few that have an issue with unions are bad business owners that want to underpay their employees, try to have bad work hours, in general cheapen out and take and take all the money the self. Is there any difference in the US?
I spent the first part of my career for an aircraft manufacturer. We had five plants and a couple of them were indoctrinated and infested with the UAW. Those poor slobs in the other factories got such sucky pay, less vacation time, no shares and they had to pay a corrupt union boss to make sure they got paid less. Unions have a use if lives are in danger, but just building machines in a factory doesn’t require anyone to speak for you (if you can’t speak?).
Yea, they would come down and try to get in and all the lazy pukes would start pushing for it. They same people that used to tell me I was working to fast and hard. (Makes the day go faster and it will not kill you).

Tesla built a plant in Germany and is doing great, so why not treat US workers the same way? Even the best factory job you can imagine with never having to work more than 40 hrs per week, 3 weeks paid vacation, 6 weeks maternity leave and free super health care insurance does not even meet the bare minimum requirements in Germany.
In Germany:
1- No at will employment, everyone has a contract and the employer cannot fire you because he wants to
2- There is a 40 hr cap on work hours per week
3- Minimum of 20 days paid vacation per year
4- 6 weeks of sick leave per year
5- 6 weeks of paid maternity leave before birth and 8 weeks after birth
6- Employer has no right to contact employees after working hours
7- 3 years parental leave
