Consumers ready for his or her Ford F-150 Lightning electrical truck may need to attend a bit longer than anticipated.
On Tuesday, Ford spokesperson Emma Bergg confirmed to Motor Authority that each a stop-build and an in-transit stop-ship order have been issued for the F-150 Lightning because of a possible battery difficulty.
The character of the battery difficulty was not disclosed by the automaker.
Bergg stated the potential difficulty was recognized as a part of Ford’s pre-delivery high quality inspections. The automaker is unaware of any incidents or points related to this potential difficulty within the area with customer-owned vans.
A stop-sale has not been issued and all F-150 Lightnings already constructed and at sellers are cleared for scheduled supply.
Bergg would not elaborate on the potential battery difficulty. The engineering crew is presently establishing the foundation reason behind the potential difficulty.
A timeline hasn’t been given as to when the stop-build and in-transit stop-ship orders will likely be lifted.
“It is determined by how lengthy it is going to take to conduct the foundation trigger evaluation,” Bergg stated.
The Lightning has obtained three value hikes since its launch almost a yr in the past. Ranging from $57,869, the Lightning is now 38.9% costlier than when it first went on sale.
