Great video 👍🏻
The looks attract me but the CVT makes me run away.
All of these people complaining about ecvt. It’s superb! I have never had to use more than half throttle in my rav4. It’s not that sort of car. If I want to drive like that I go out in my Ferrari!……… NOT.
Why can't the UK get the new Prius prime, could you ask Toyota on my behalf?
VW fanboys once again proving their infinite stupidity in the comment section
Great video but I wish you had shown the seats in the design more clearly with the partial leather
Shame they cannot seem to make it look more interesting!
5th year Mk IV Prius driver here and ex turbo diesel fan…..yeah don’t hate me …..not as pokey or quite as good mpg on motorways as my Civic Tdi but the Toyota is better in every other respect, cheap to run, easy and relaxing to drive, comfortable, totally reliable. Never understood why motoring “journalists” focus on 0-60 …in the real world of traffic and speed cameras away from a test track, it’s irrelevant ….30-50 more important. In reality the electric poke provides plenty of low down torque. ALL ecvt’s have some drone so I wish they’d stop going on about it. It’s only there on really hard acceleration or steep hills. If you own one you forget about it in a few days of driving it. Anyway I ordered one blind to prevent getting caned on company car diesel BIK and it turned out to be a great move. First auto in 30 years of driving ….I’m a convert.
Stop complaining. Some people are never satisfied. Haha
I have a 2019 Excel model. I am trading it in for a 2023 Excel model in the next couple of weeks and can not wait. A brilliant all-around car. I wouldn't bother with the 1.8 litre. Only the 2.0 litre packs a punch.
excellent review
30,000 gbp for a Corolla? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHHA. UK is a proper 3rd world country when a corolla is out of the reach of the average person.
Where is 899 GCP from. ?Not a UK Reg.
Its not a cvt in no of Toyotas cars cutting a very streng e-cvt.
The review seemed extremely biased against the corolla. It was as if the reviewer went into this review with the mind already set that the Corolla is a 'AWFUL CAR, BUT..MAYBE NOT TOO BAD".
You expect car reviews to be completely unbiased and impartial.
This didn't feel like that at all.
Even the positives mentioned in the video didn't feel like positives by the way that they were presented.
Exterior is that of an Icon in Juniper Blue with a pan roof and Excel seats
And the price is only 2 million Pounds and barely does more mpg than my 14 year on diesel Focus estate. Cars are so out of touch for the normal working person and something for the wealthy. My first new car was a top of the range Renault Megane mk2 1.9 diesel 2003 and cost £14.5k now the Megane starts at £37K just madness.
Go for the Suzuki Swace. It is much cheaper.
How did you manage less than 40mpg on the motorway? My 2.0 does 45-50 cruising at 70
So a fully speced spare wheel corrola is the same on the boot as rivals …
Why aren't they bringing the GR Corolla to the UK? Or the Mazda 3 Turbo for that matter? And I bet the next Type-R won't be coming either. WTF???
Like the idea think it's better than full electronic car. Just need someone to give me the cash to buy one. Not a loan but but a nice gesture of goodwill. The only other thing wrong with these cars is when they go wrong as in time they will. Then repairs could well cost so much they will right off the car as uneconomical to repair.
Looks a nice car, but he is the same as every other car reviewer, he has to make an issue with the CVT transmission.
There is nothing wrong with them whatsoever. We had CVT on a Honda, on our Yaris and Lexus. They work well.
Also the Toyota is going to be far more reliable as most of the other makes he mentioned. Especially any German cars.
Last October, I used one of my sons' Auris 2014 petrol 1.6 to travel to West Wales from Hertfordshire. On the motorway it averaged 47 mpg…… an 8 year old out economises the current hybrids!
75 mpg my Ass
MG is disposable car with 60% range in winter. Stupid expensive to keep after 8 years when battery need replacement too. hybrid battery is only about £2000 but EV is more than £20 000
Wish it was available in north America
What's the something else? If you prefer the looks of the GR Sport… 🤔🤔🤔🤔 (and still want efficiency)
Thanks for the video. I think I will still go with the Honda Jazz eHev.
This room in the back is a puzzler, I can fit in the back of a 2009 yaris no problem and I am 6 feet 1 inch, 16 stone..
Those motorway mpg figures are shocking.. think I'll be better of with a Ceed
Toyota continues to make the most bland and boring cars
Fckn CVT only thing why i wouldn't buy Toyota
5:20 Does anybody know the soundtrack at this point?
How is the “1.8 the one to go for fuel economy” when the 2.0 gets better MPG?
Toyotas ecvt isn’t actually a cvt. It doesn’t use pulleys and a belt, instead it uses a planetary gear system.
What would you recommend if I'm looking at this kind of car but I have the money for the sport version? You said you didn't recommend the Corolla sport version.
Which Corolla is better in USA MARKET? The 2.0 gasoline engine or the Hybrid Corolla in straight line acceleration?🤔
Can anyone recommend a good site to find the most efficient motorway cars? When I Google it I find plenty of sites listing best luxury cars for motorway driving, or just saying things like "buy a diesel". But I want to see a list of the most efficient petrol cars for motorways.
I just bought a 2023 Toyota Corolla LE hybrid several weeks ago (June of 2023). On the first tank of gas I babied it for break in and got over 60 mpg. 😅. My last five years I had been driving the Toyota Avalon. For my first 600 miles I have been very impressed with this car. The seating is very comfortable and it handles much better than I expected. I bought the Corolla for its efficiency and reliability and I’m a happy owner.
Modern Hybrid is more and more about inexpensive electrical assisting an inexpensive hybrid fuels internal combustion engine
vs an cheap auxiliary combustion generator recharging the huge and expensive car batteries.
Ive heard theres awful tyre noise in this model. Can anyone confirm or clarify ?
Interesting how much well equipped these cars are in comparison to the US spec. I suspect most Americans probably can’t stomach paying over 35k for a non-performance Corolla though
Would be a more educated review if you present specs / information in Metric too. Otherwise good.
A tad smaller than I thought it should be. The Prius Prime is better.
Honda went massive and Toyota the opposite. I don't understand how they designed a family hatchback which is that small in the back. You need to get adults in the back. They couldn't extend the wheelbase by 5-10cms? Seems a large own goal as people will immediately go to the opposition.
made in UK these reviewers never mention that
Why can I only put 2.1GB of MP3s on a USB? The rest is not seen
Jennifer Aniston thanks car
Toyota owners don't want a fast high powered car, but a car that can last for decades without any problems. And you don't understand the sound of that planetgear E-CVT gearbox. You can only hear it if you mistreat your Toyota.
