Yet another youtuber missed the big flop in Ford's recent announcements. They said they will increase production of the Mach-E, nearly doubling it to 130,000 per year. Which is a brutal admission that things are not going great for ramping it up. Because in December 2021 they announced that they'd be making 200,000 Mach-E's per year in 2023. They are delaying the benefits of scale.
The Model Y price increased $1,500 to $54,990.
Nobody has mentioned that after March, Tesla may not qualify for the full $7500 credit given legislation changes. I’m hesitant to place an order given the delivery timeline is now March-May
Just read another thing that is a kick in the pants. In my state there is a $4000 incentive to go EV BUT the MSRP has to be no more than $55,000. That means only the model 3 qualifies or a base white model Y with no options. Not ever a different color option now thanks to Tesla raising there prices. 😡
Model 3 RWD down another $500
I have a question? I ordered my Y-LR last month but I haven’t completed the lease application yet. They told me to do it after I received the vin#. My car price is locked right?, is not going to be next month increase price. Thanks
"EVs will get much cheaper with economy of scale".
Yeah. Right.
I placed an order for the MYLR yesterday before the $1500 increase. It came just under $55000 so it qualifies for the $7500 federal tax credit hopefully and my state (Massachusetts) rebate for an additional $3500
You are delusion. Price decrease.
If Tesla's goal is to have people drive they EVs… They got to keep the prices low.
If Ford wasn't hundreds of billions of dollars in debt I'd expect them to survive…time will tell. I'll be waiting for the Cybertruck reserved back in November of 2019.
Placed my order on 1/14 for a black on black MYLR. Still waiting for my vin and current delivery range is any day between now and 2/15. The suspense is intense 😬
If I order a MY before March but it comes after March, do I still qualify for the full $7500 tax credit?
give me a tesla model y and a tesla charger if i am big or now cause i am yr9, Maybe to 2027, i don't have a TESLA MODEL Y, maybe today or tommorro?
Tesla caused customers to have more negative equity in their cars then anyone could imagine overnight. Can’t wait to dump mine. Piece of trash. Superchargers are all they have. Cars are cheap and Elon is a egotistical prick. Tesla offered me 28,000 less than I paid on a trade. Dealers just as bad. Fuk Tesla.
Just curious, if I ordered at the lowest price but haven't taken delivery, I'm assuming if I made any changes at all to the config I'd have to pay the new price.
I strongly disagree with those who suggest that Tesla is still overvalued.
Congratulations to all who bought the Tesla in this recession and added a 55k ish loan for years to come.
Regarding retention, it's because people owning a Tesla doesn't learn from their mistakes
There will be an announcement Monday regarding a Model Y update (HD Radar and maybe more) so hiking prices is an attempt to scare people to hurry order (the older model) now before the announcement.
IRS should have left the cap at $55k. That cap single handedly goosed some serious sales for Tesa by causing a huge price drop on Tesla. The subsequent demand caused Ford to drop their price to not lose out on market share. If that $55k cap was left in placed longer, I am sure at the very least, VW would have also dropped the price on the ID.4 as well.
EV prices have gone the wrong way for over a year with prices increasing spectacularly in late 2021 and throughout 2022. The IRS standard erased all of that within a week bringing EVs a little more within range of what consumers can afford. Non luxury new car price in Dec 2022 was $46k. $53k before tax credit is still quite a bit higher than $46k and only after the EV tax credit does the LR Model Y drop to about the average non luxury new car price. Of note, I am comparing the Model Y to a non luxury car because it is soooo not a luxury vehicle.
Now with the adjustment in the IRS standard, Tesla, Ford, VW can charge back up to that $60k+ range and put EVs out of range of most people all over again.
A price war would have gotten more people into EVs. It would have been good for consumers by getting prices down and therefore able to get more bottoms into EVs. And once people get into EVs they almost never want to go back to ICEs.
One of the three major EV related reasons for the IRA bill was to get more people into EVs. That $55k cap standard completely had the effect in full. And now that is lost.
(In case anyone is wondering, the other reasons for the IRA were to get more batteries made in the US and more EVs made in the US).
I definitely want other auto companies to succeed in the EV space but I do see Tesla holding dominance. I think it will be similar to the iPhone where 50 percent of people are driving Tesla. Tesla as a whole makes incredible products. No other vehicle compares, the charging infrastructure is unbeatable, the quality and ease of use when it comes to the UI is just amazing. I’m a life long Tesla customer, I’ve owned two Model 3’s and I’m looking forward to getting the Model Y at some point and then a Model S or X down the line. I don’t see myself driving another brand ever. Cybertruck will seal the deal, Tesla ALL the way!
Tesla service is so bad now that I doubt it will keep customer loyalty for long. My Model X has been bricked since Jan 8 with an estimated completion by Feb 25 (for now). It also took 4 weeks to get a loaner. Check the Tesla forums and anyone can see that my experience is not unique. I was a fan, but I may be 2 and done.
It's almost like Biden did something that will make Elon the pussy more money. Will he tweet about it? Of course not.
Will the Texas built model Y have improved fit and finish issues?
Get your delivery before March and the battery sourcing tax credit rules kick in.
I feel like we should work on the power grid before giving out tax credits.
Ryan, I thought the M “Y” LR will only qualify as an SUV with the 3rd Row seats. Has that changed?
I'm excited for the classification change as I have a Blazer EV reservation. I think it's safe to assume whatever classification the Lyriq is given would be applied to the Blazer as well
Does the Tesla always record the driving or that something you have to set up?
There's no point of buying used since new prices are better. Meaning used cars finna plummet even more
I am just going to wait for the cyber truck 😌
It is already out of reach for me. I had hoped to trade in my Model 3 SR+ for the Y but the price is top steep for me.
I ordered my Model Y performance in late 2021 and took it on 1/19/22. I’ve had so many window issues and took it to service so many times. They all said they don’t see anything wrong. Fast forward to 1/19/23. All 4 of my windows went down on its own 3x from 6pm to 11pm for about 7 inches and it was hailing & raining that particular day. The next morning I woke up the car was severely water damaged. Took it to Tesla and they had to replace my passenger seat and my door sensor. I told them I shouldn’t have to take back a car with water damage due to a system glitch. Tesla customer service even admitted to this glitch happening to quite a few cars for the last 3 weeks. I am now requesting a buy back but they said it’s not promised and it can take 1-2 months. So now I am going to file it thru the State Attorney General. I’m not saying this will happen to everyone but the excruciating headaches that I’ve had to go thru has been one that I don’t want to wish upon anyone.
I ordered Feb 1, while still under the $55k limit, basic white MY5LR with Black interior, 19" wheels, wanted Red but put me over the cap. Friday, I contacted my SA, and had the color changed. I asked if they had a lot of these requests…to that they said "We also have a ton of people inquiring to place a new order." They changed my color to Red within hours, delivery window states Mar to May 2023.
Also seeing a bunch of Standard Range cars showing up on the Inventory page within 200 miles of me in Central Ohio, they come and go very quickly.
Tesla is properly playing with consumer minds! People are buying even though they don’t need one😂😅
Now Model Y is 55k
What about european market ?
