Sorry, but I have to start pinning this until I learn how to speak clearly again. I am not having a stroke nor do I have bell’s palsy, a brain tumor or MS. I do not have ALS or a migraine. Please stop calling my shop to notify me or Mrs.O that I can not speak clearly. I am very aware of my inability to "pronunciate" words like I use to and she is also aware of my slurred speech. We live together and work together and I even talk to her. I have an upper palate expander in my mouth. It interferes with my tongue. Shcrews up my shpeech . Thank you for your concerns.
-Eric O.
I unsubscribed from a channel with a similar format last summer because I was tired of him bringing up politics unprovoked. But I love watching vids like this because it helps me in determining the many problems with my mule van (2005 Venture), and heck, potentially with my WAY newer car (pretty much no problems) that just went out of warranty. Glad this video came up!
REWIRE IT PROPERLY WITHOUT TAPE IN MY HEART MILLY VANILLY
Anti theft feature 😂
Short
Hey, don't shut up shop yet, I'm on my way from 🇬🇧 with my Nissan Navara with a throttle that doesn't work 😂 nobody here can fix it.
I'm happy to have a caveman tier car with caveman tier electronics.
Eric..I am from central PA and you phrasing and words sound….perfect and natural to me! Love you sharing your expansive knowledge and menu choices!!!
I have been watching every repair shop channel in existence that I can find, including mechanical, electrical, resto, and detailers from Florida to Canada and out to the midwest, and even rebuild channels in Asia, because of an idiot putting a new battery in my jeep backwards, and the same things keep coming up time and time again; don't mess with anything newer than OBD1. I'm seeing the same thing in consumer electronics as well.
You are awesome!
I love this guy!
Most people would've probably replaced the ignition from the very start
Hey troubleshooters… Y'all know how viewers can zoom in on youtube video's now?
Well when carfully watching that loose connector up close.
Indeed each time our narrator jiggled wires elsewhere. Only when good wires slightly budged against Loose connectors protective sleeve did error appear.
When I buy a new car. It has to have FACTORY remote. One so called remote starter shop by me went out of business.
I WONDER WHY?
It's always the little things
Thank you again Eric for the video 👍
Considering my experiences with dealerships, if I dropped my car off and wasted several hours of my life and way more money than necessary just to be handed a Best Buy remote start fob that is clearly aftermarket, I would have some bone to pick.
You do a great job
An honeset mechanic and an honest accountant are two of the most important people that you can hire.
Is there anyway to turn off those silly audible alarms and warnings – seat belts, open doors etc. drives me crazy with my car!
I had a Miata that would stall when I put on the right side indicators, but only if it was in gear. Dodgy electric connection, something with ground.
16:06 looks like that connector was loose yeah. and wiggling the wire it was attacked to made it stall
Anyone who fixes computers often would tell you always reseat the video card and check your wire connections first 🙂
First thing I thought was: "Since when were toyota using vacuum powered wipers???" Lmao, than I woke up to myself and realised they probably have a stupid accessory installed.
All too often we have people coming in complaining about things not working just to see that they paid some lazy chain retail shop to install a dashcam tapped into their radio or OBD fuse. to see a stupid "rAcE chIP" installed in their diag port. Love their reaction when we have to tell them to take it back to the original installer to have it removed before we even bother touching it. Ahhh dealership life.
But, but is a Toyoduh!😂
I hate Scotchlock connectors.i first encountered them in 1975? I can't believe they are still used.
before you got into it I was thinking, " Okay it's got to be an idiotic short somewhere in the column…"
Yeah I'm not doing these kind of aftermarket "upgrades" again. I also has a autostart installed and the trunk when randomly open, even when if the keys weren't in it and locked. lol
Good work!
I learned a long time ago, "the thing that changed is the cause" see it a zillion times!
I try to be gentle and not overuse those lever switches because I know how many wires and contacts they have inside, and how expensive they are to replace.
I probably could have seen that the connector was loosey-goosey on your video except for the videotaping of that 'stupid key chain' was blocking my view the whole program! lol
It happens, and I just listened to your audio. There is always a workaround unless the ship is sinking quickly.
How deep does the hackery go??
This is the best mechanic comment I have heard.
It;s LET'S DRIVE ERIC NUTS DAY!! 😃
Eric, long time viewer… love the vids… I can't hear anything wrong and having been a live act sound engineer I'd be the first to cringe… perhaps you are getting use to having the appliance and I missed the videos that you were adjusting to it…
I always seem to pick up something new or you remind me of something I'd long forgotten… anyways keep up the great work…
Have remote start on my 1992 Firblade.. it does work, but can't see the point of having it in the first place. being sat on the bike itself when starting it lessens the chance of theft.
15:46 seconds in whey u hit the harness is see the clip behind the keys move, the ione you were able to remove easily off camera.
It really depends on the vehicle and the installer…for me if it's an early 90's and older vehicle and the installer took pride in his/her work then the remote starters are not that bad to deal with but on newer vehicles especially ones that has the factory plug and go connectors but somebody decides to play butcher shop by installing aftermarket instead of the factory plug in module yeah it's a nightmare
take it back to the dealership and have them fix it for free and a give a few free oil changes cause of their screw up
How does the remote start bypass the anti theft as I'm assuming it doesn't need a key?
" You picked a fine time to leave me , loose wheel "
" Four hungry children , and a crop in the field "
" I've had some bad times, lived through some Flat times "
" But this time your hurting won't heal "
" You picked a fine time to leave me, Loose wheel "
These are the kind of troubles that you have to proceed carefully and methodically. Like Eric does. He didn't lose his mind and start yanking everything. He honed in on it. Yes, it takes time and time is money.A happy customer though is worth their weight in gold in these days of social media. Great Job Eric.
Very impressive, Eric! Your trouble-shooting king fu has honored the entire village!
Mazda and their 'new' rotary engine discovered a bunch of manufactured grief. The "DRIVE-by-WIRE" looked great —on the drafting table; one idea had all wires replaced with radio/EM pulses… go figure!
What in the thunder, down under is going on here
