From an old fellow; Those old engines barely made 60,000 miles before they needed work. Modern cars are good for 250,000 miles. In fact, modern cars fail, on the electronic side. Braking systems on old cars( 1950-1960s) needed resealing kits often….I was there! Then we have problems obtaining spares. Conclusion; I try to keep 25-30 year old cars rolling. That's enough work.. life is too short. Although, I greatly admire the fellows who do achieve the restoration of old cars. Peace be unto you.
Lovely set of pictures, I often wonder how they went from owners pride and joy to unloved and the scrap yard, If only the pre war cars could tell us some tales and what they witnessed.
great blog mate Gary from Crewe👍👍👍👍👍👍
Splendid effort. So much rust, dust, and undergrowth!
Absolutely wonderful many thanks. Now that's my kind of motor show. And what a way to start with those pre-war Vauxhalls! Lovely cars. (I think the word you were looking for, when these lovely old vehicles are stripped of their registration, is 'Criminal'.)

If there are any petrolheads that you know that might find this kind of thing interesting, please pass on one of these links, thanks!
At 19:36 JDJ230D is SORN so it is still about. Thanks
At 22:49 possibly a Honda, circa 1970. Thanks
I laughed when I saw the red electric/ gas weird car 1/3rd in the clip… A bit confused over a car being worthy or unworthy due to the registration / license plate there or not there…. Weird laws you have … We can buy registration plates anytime in the USA …
Time 22:36 i believe the car you could not recognize was a NSU Prinz 1000
Good stuff 👍👍👍. Nice to see some lorries, buses and tractors in there as well…
Interesting collection there. Even though some are well beyond saving there could be some useful parts to be had. As you said it can be difficult to know if a project is worth taking on when you think of the cost. Sometimes people do it just as a labour of love and not care about the cost. I take my hat off to them for rescuing any barn find there are still some real finds out there I am sure but with the passing of time that prospect decreases. Thanks Rick I will look forward to part two.👍👍
hi there, very interesting, sad about the AEC matadors and Bedford rls. it is what it is,
hi, that is a Fordson Thames with the commer cab, remember them in BOAR in germany 1969.great memories.
Those cars were not Renaults but NSU's 1000, the car you didn't know what it was, a Simca Aronde.
Have you ever thought about doing a calendar for these great pictures?
Fordson E4 4X4 with the flathead V8 and as you said, a Commer cab. I worked on and drove one of these regularly in the 1980's, converted like many to work in woodland environment …. great days.
The volvo is back on the road 👍 this channel is like have a multitude of classic in your own garage but without the head ache lol keep the good work up
An awesome collection of photos….and great commentary. Very enjoyable thank you 🙂
I do have a soft spot for Avengers (I had one years ago). The two-door models seem to be particularly rare now.
Great collection of photos, very interesting vehicles. Thanks Bob
There's a body under that 38 MG. Is it dead? O the horror!

In the early 70’s I drove a Matador as a wrecker up and down the M6 towing at max 30 mph.
Hi Richard, about 10yrs ago I visited a farm like premises opposite the front of the old Unigate Dairy, it had a long drive, at the end of the drive were some outbuildings housing a number of 1960s SAABs. Have you ever heard anything about this?
