BMW took away the rear-axle steering and the air suspension from the 50 and put them into the 60. They had to do that or no one would buy the 60.

I really appreciated your thoughtful and thorough comments and review. We bought one, a 2024 M60. We’re in our 70’s and can afford a luxury SAV. It could very well be the last car we buy. Ours is currently being built and we’re excited to get it in mid to late October. It’s a bit deflating to think of our car as “disposable” but that’s what one gets when you listen to a thoughtful discussion based in reality. Please keep doing what you seem to do well.

I lease my vehicles and I test drove the iX M50 and was meh. Immediately afterwards I test drove the iX M60 and returned with a shit eating grin all over my face.
Compared to the X3M I currently drive, it is even more aggressive and I loved it.
I agree with you on the lease vs. buy and also to be aware of insurance rates. I was quoted a $14 monthly increase for a 2024 X3M vs. a $116 monthly increase for the M60.
I order one to lease and it is now being built.
Who is the vehicle for you asked? The same peo[le that buy X3Ms or X5Ms.
If its made from recycled materials, made that portion of the door is made from recycled Chevy Cruze dashboards, tons of them have died by now!

The iX is actually pretty nice. Aside from the front end, it’s not terrible. Great for what it is but it’s expensive. The sound system is amazing.

If you want to see how far electric vehicles have come technologically, google "electric vehicles in China" on YouTube and prepare to be amazed. China, not America, sets the trends (& advances) in electric vehicle capabilities.
I think you guys are too focused on the price tag but the reality is no one is paying that. These cars lease better than an X5 so the MSRP is irrelevant. Dealers are giving 10% off and BMW financial is giving a $9900 credit plus stupid low money factors (like 1% apr equivalent). You don't get any of that on an X5 making the iX a better deal.
Let's just tell the truth man you hate Electric vehicles and that's it cut and dry every EV you've reviewed you've bashed i personally own a mustang mach-e premium awd and i frigging love it regardless of what guys you say this is true future and I also own ICE vehicles just bought a 2024 Nissan frontier
We have a white M60. We freaking love it. We know it’s weird looking and that’s ok.
The sound system is beyond amazing and the speed is mind blowing.
Hand controls are another plus.
The air suspension and rear steering is also a plus not mentioned. Should have been.

They are doing it right, but should have done it sooner, they were the first, and let others lead the pack. And the design is just horrible, looks ugly as sin, but you know what I will buy a 3 year old one and drive it for 2-3 years.

Hey Jack. We keep seeing more and more life and performance from batteries. In addition, the battery is a fairly straightforward removal process, power disconnect, coolant disconnect, management cable disconnect and 20 bolts to drop it. Open the case replace the faulty cell or cells, put it back together, go to lunch. Good for the 2nd 200k miles

If only the iDrive and overall software were closer to Tesla's, I would be all over this vehicle. I guess it all depends where you live. In California Tesla just makes more sense.

I own a 2025 iX XDrive50 and this 2023 review was a must watch. There are many important things to consider when getting an iX and you cover most of them.. It is a pleasure to drive and It certainly has quirks, nearly weird, but overall it is a solid, terrific EV. that is as you describe still evolving. Quiet beyond imagination. The drive quality is just excellent.
I drove a lot of EVs for reviewing purpose and this is the one that will impressed me every time when I get behind the wheel. Compared to other EV SUVs(all feels like I’m using a cheap sim racing stuff, or I’m riding on a boat)this is like a goddamn Lotus Elise😂. Of course the ride quality is superb, but the amount of feedback it gives and that natural feeling from its pretty composed chassis.
