Has anyone faced the problem with the lane assistant module, where the car steers accidentally to the wrong direction?
I bought one and when I was talking to my mate about an event that happened in June 1989, the car stopped working and I haven't been able to start it up since
MG4 is good car but your comment is pretty subjective. Anyway i'll buy it.
MG ooooh nice ,would I buy one with actual real my cash ? Absolutely not
Dont know why he thinks it looks good.
I haven’t driven that model. But found the MG I drove had a poor finish and a performance to match 😬 Not enough distributors either too few and far between. P.s Ev cars have very little resale value and depreciate rapidly.
I’m stuck between a model 3 and a mg4. The price difference is notable but so is the build quality. The Tesla just looks and feels more premium. Having a model Y I am struggling with justifying the additional cost for a model3. I do get that Tesla itch satisfied. I don’t need the larger space that the model 3 provides, but the panoramic top, the facelift 2023 model with refreshed interior design is stunning.
The MG4 is a great looking car, easy to drive, and ok ish on the inside, but brand snobbery is also a factor.
Why would anyone buy a piece of plastic crap manufactured by the dog eaters in China ?
If anyone's interested, the town where Mat is driving, is Deddington. It's just south of Banbury.

Entry level MG4 is the best 2nd car you can get in an EV
Tesla is better value as a first car
Needed to get my thoughts down as I am really not sure people are comparing apples with apples
Really trying not to be a Tesla fan boy becuase I want the whole market competing on EV but we are just not there yet. (but almost)
Close, but I think the next 2 years might level the playing field unless Tesla have already gotten too much of a head start on
It seems seems like all the reviewers are desperate to love the MG4
And I actually like it and would probably go out an buy one tomorrow, but it would only be the entry level
And here are the reasons, I would really want to pony up to get the Tesla 3
Features
Entry level MG only has 350km range vs Tesla 2 at 513km
The tesla has better tech , better charging options
Everything above base model MG4, has the older battery tech
Only the Tesla and the bottom of the range MG have lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery
LFP batteries are lighter, charge faster and are not as toxic as cobalt oxide or manganese oxide Lithium batteries
Note, the only drawback this battery has seems to be that they do not perform as well in the cold, but not a problem for me here Qld Australia.
No storage in the front under the bonnet for the MG
Less storage in the trunk for the MG
The safety features and software appear to be mor polished in the Tesla
Resale
If the purpose is to be a shopping trolley and charge from home, and a longer warranty, I think the entry level MG is a really good option
But I work as a rep and it seems like the Tesla will be a no brainer based on the feature set.
I am just saying, by the time you get closer in a spec to spec comparison, the MG comes up a bit short
But I still like it 🙂
Pricing
MG Australia website
EXCITE 51 FROM $41,197 359km
Excite 64 FROM $47,317 450km
Essence 64 FROM $50,377 435kmn
Long Range 77 FROM $58,537 530km
Tesla 3 from $61900 513km
Charging
Superchargers can add up to 275 kilometers of range in just 15 minutes
It takes 38 minutes to charge the MG4 on a 150kW charger to get from 10% to 80%
So my point is, if you are going to charge from home all the time, it probably does not matter, but its worth knowing as everyone seems obsessed with how long they will have to wait while charging….
Its just hard to recommend the any MG except the entry level based on longer warranty and the initial purchase savings of the entry level model.
Does that mean its the great 2nd car argument based only on price?
OK
So now it's time for everyone to attack me
Cmon haters…..(Remembering that I actually like the MG4)
🙂
Awesome car it is, all round and it really looks great.
Feed the USB cable upwards through the built in channels in the suspended centre piece. The top charger pad is removable and split to take the USB cable.
So, this isn’t a base model which would sell for approx. 26k. In ten years this vehicle would be worthless. Nobody would buy it because the battery would have ceased to be. The average yearly depreciation therefore would be 2,600 pounds or or £50 a week. If changing to one of these cars is a financial decision then I’m dubious but if its a virtue signal for the righteous then all well and good to support their misguided belief!
So, to see your range you need to do the math manually? That will turn away most brits 🤣
Why do you do daft things that revolve around damaging the car?
Glad CHINA propaganda machine is working. When they destroy every manufacturer by selling them at low prices then look out. The CCP will own the world 🌎🌎. I don't buy anything CHINESE made on principal. Take a look at what they are doing. Loaning money to 3rd countries knowing they can't REPAY. Then take over. PS MG is A CHINESE made s…..X how dumb are you people who still think it's ENGLISH.????????
Brand value n durability always
No way could I support the Chinese communist party by buying one of their products
Why does this guy thinks he's funny? Good channel though.
Id rather crawl through 6 miles of human excrement than drive that horrible soulless turd. I cant belive youre complimenting its looks, you called it beautiful…. I hate the future, take me back 😭
Do not buy Chinese goods if you want democracy to survive in the world, starting with Taiwan. Open your eyes for the dictatorial regime there.
Matt (the best reviewer in the whole internet) is taking the Mickey when he says it looks amazing. OMG, what an ugly car.
I know it sounds sad but you can't have a roof rack/top box so it's a non starter for lots of families. Big oversight. We were just about to order and then realised!
The one I've driven had quite some electrical issues…
7:28 Good comprehensive review Matt. Just wondering why was it necessary to throw luggage into the car? do people really do that?😄
Got one on order,nuff said?
Got a HS coming soon I know its not an EV but £26k after a little haggle and have the top of the range trophy model and it drives nice too and well equipped better than the X5 I had. BMW and other rip off manufacturers take note if MG can do it at a reasonable price, so can they.
Sorry but i will never buy a chinese car
It looks exactly like aldi. They should only sell it in blue and yellow color.
What an ugly car
why would they neglect using front space for cargo? surely they have some reason
Byd han very good car bro )
The only electric car I like so far! Wonderful design, reasonable price, nice specs.
Such an annoying guy. Trying too hard to be funny.. Not just my opinion others i have asked say the same. Wouldn't go to carwow. Ask any main dealer and they will match Carwow.
The only issue is the deeper backseats and high doors mean children won't able to see anything but yhe sky. Not actually a family car. The again if your kids live off. Tablets, maybe long journeys are doable.
I wish we could get that car, it has the least watts used per mile of any I have seen, looks great, and price is good. Can we get MG any more in USA?
Where are they built?
Muy bien hecho marca china enséñales con poco presupuesto puedes tener algo bonito.
How about mentioning China’s human rights abuses? M.
Great looks, fun to drive, great quality, good battery range and fast charging, long 7 year warranty, all for the bargain price of £26k, what more do you want and why pay more? This is definitely a formula for success for MG, and I'll be ordering my first EV the MG 4 first thing Monday morning!
I chose not to buy an MG4 because I needed a bit more space in the back and also need a centre headrest for a third rear seat passenger.
I don't really care about 0 to 60 times, cool roof spoilers or smart light bars across the back or the extended splitter or crease along the bonnet.
It is just not practical enough for my needs.
I am yet to see an the uglier looking car
But it's Chinese! Definitely NO!
There’s not one bit of this video that doesn’t try to be funny. Problem in, it’s not at all. What wrong with a simple quality review?
