"Your car is leaking oil"
I feel personally attacked!
make sure the rubber gasket comes off with the old filter. The first time I changed the oil in my 64 1/2 I didn't notice it stuck to the block and screwed the new filter on. Made for a hell of a mess when I filled it back up and cranked the engine.
Is it necessary to add a zinc additive when using synthetic?
I used a 90 degree oil filter adapter on my 351C so the filter sits vertically making removing the filter less messy.
Should you add oil to the filter?
Part of an Lube, Oil & Filter is to grease the chassis. Yours has zert fittings on all of the front suspension and steering parts. You also want to see if the u joints have zert fitting and also make sure the rear differential is full
Dont forget to remove the old filter gasket. Look at the old filter and if the O ring isnt there its still stuck on the engine
Did you use 10w 30 motorcraft?
