That is a brilliant car, I would probably keep it fairly original, but upgrading some essentials like suspension, brakes, exaust, to more modern although a turbo in car like that’s seems great 👍🏻 😂

@MAT I NEED YOUR ADVICE. I HAVE A BMW 323 E90 (NOTHING SPECIAL BY YOUR STANDARDS ). bought it as a second hand. it started making weird noises in the engine. turns out there is a lot of sludge (built up oil). do i overhaul or buy a new second hand engine?🤕🤕😁

Just watched the first 3 videos on this BMW.Listening to some of the comments you made . This rings alarm bells, keep it standard.
This car is a gem find.Done correctly and with sympathy this will be worth a lot of money at the end of the day.
Strip the engine check everything. Fit new shells to the bottom of crank and pistons. Surprised you didn't do a compression test to check cylinders before you took engine out.
Check and rebuild VANOS unit at front of engine this is a must on rebuilds.
Clean and fit all new parts that are needed for engine.I would also clean block and cylinder head. Remove rust so it looks new. Needs new valve cover defiantly.
The list goes on, but the engine is the heart of the car and needs as much love and sympathy as the rest of the car.
It's a long journey but the reward at the end will be worth it.
This car needs to be rescued, it's a classic. Hope to see new vid on project soon.
Don't go mad on it with upgrades. Keep it standard.Or else you will ruin a beautiful classic BMW.🇬🇷

Hi Mat. What’s the story with the E24? You should maybe drop a modern engine in it from a crashed car. Put a cage in it. DJM will make a cage for you. Do a a resto mod on it

I hope you decided on keeping the 3.5 liter straight six. It's such an iconic engine, it would be such a waste not to use it. I have it on an e34 and it's a great engine. I'm planning on fitting a turbo on it because it's so capable on handling the power.
