The Flintstones called, they like their car back.
I really enjoy your channel. How you bring everyone along with you. Thank You
A friend of mines dad designed this car – Paul Bracq – a true artist. This one hopefully will get somewhere back to its former glory.
9 out of 10 times the freeze plugs do pop out after the block is cracked 😏 ive seen it so many times. Nice car a phase 3 Bmw 635csi i have a 1980 635csi with the famous m90 engine
Ive some very rare clear front indicator lenses and a M3 mirror. for you Matt FOC and I'll bring em down!
What a magnificent project.
This car is beautiful ❤
Chassis rust is so bad I'm surprised it saveable.
HELLO, NICE VIDEOS :). I HAVE A SMALL COMMENT, i THINK THIS IS A 1979 CAR AND NOT 1989, I AM ALMOST SURE. I HAD BEFORE 320i 179, 528i 1982, 525 1989, 525 1991 AND 528 1999. am I right?
Cant wait to see how this one goes, great stuff Mat
So cool can’t wait to see this one finished
Anyone repairing the rust on this car will be busy for months and months. Easy to under estimate how much effort it will take.
Are you still doing this?
the first angry Shark!
Hi Mat, it's Jan from Cornwall with the latest Golf R with the performance pack , just caught up with your BMW 635 vid had this model as my wedding car some years ago great car but as I and you know now experience on parts much like most German cars looking forward to see how you get on , love your vids ,
Regards Jan .
I haven't even started watching this yet but I just saw a comment. If the floorboard is rusted out I'm going to have a nice long chuckle. I bought a 77 630csi years ago to rehab and that was the major deal. I didn't keep the car long and a damn shame. I so loved that car but it was going to be a money pit. Replaced the driveshaft and carrier bearing and the best I could get was a junkyard part from Kentucky (I was in Missouri) and that's when I decided I did not have the resources to do it right at that time. That straight 6 was an amazing motor. Well, now onto watching.
👍👍
I found a bmw 633 csi for 3.5k should i buy it?
Good vid btw
Ive had a '89 535i in Europe, but the car was made for the U.S. market. She had every possible extra. Still miss her and that project.
Do you guys use salt on your roads
What’s happening with this Mat? Been a while
Might be a cool idea to get some of the rust like on the diff cleaned off with a laser rust removal tool. They always make great videos 🤪😁😃
Brave to take it on, did you tell us what you paid for it?
Rotbox
Love your positive attitude Mat, its infectious! Was aghast at the state of some of this BMW and you just take it all in your stride with a “I’ve seen worse”…brilliant!! All the best with this project, I’ll definitely be glued to the channel. Great work
Looking for some advice!
Trying to find a 635csi, looking to probably just use the shell and put a completely different engine. In terms of model year, what’s the main differences, in terms of exterior and interior.
13:46 Never lift/support any engine (especially a BMW) on the sump! BMW's have a super weak sump, and to replace them usually means removing the engine in the process.
14:15 Hammer core plugs with a small metal bar running across it. Helps keep the plug even and level as it goes in. If it is even slightly uneven, it can pop out under pressure later (and that will suck).
Rust bucket. Good luck with rebuild, be good to watch its progress.
Matt, can you do a vlog on best car cleaning products, especially inside windsreen.
This is going to be a great project to watch
Awesome video, thank you
I just don't know how he stays so cheerful all the time😄 I'd be suicidal after discovering all that structural rust and peripheral rust – well, just rust, rust, rust! Truly a gargantuan project although I guess half the battle is realising it, accepting it's going to cost more than the car will ever be worth but even so, just doing it to save the car and branch out your skills. Mind you on that subject, I really want to say that surely, instinctively, an older car like that must surely be easier to work on than all these really modern ones with their multiplicity of advanced electronics and complex optional extras?
Mercedes c11….if I had the initiative as full on as you that would be my dream car….or c10…La man unreal kid…ULtimate car of a lifetime…reliable aswell….
At 11:10 you're talking about breaking the bond/seal in between the pannels. I saw you mastered the bonding skills on the M5, so no worries!
this will take forever to repair
Nothing but positive energy from this guy! Way to go!
music name intro?
M539 Restorations……..
Yeah but if anyone can do it you can got faith in you after seeing your projects
that's what all 70's and 80's cars were like, spent many hours welding up cars from this time, ah the good old days
You will need to replace just about everything in the engine and suspension that deals with rubber (hoses, bushings, belts, ac hoses etc. Rubber frim the 90s and before will breakdown on the inside, So replace it even if they look good.)
Nice car series. Hopefully you can fix some newer cars like the Transporter movie cars as the next project. Looking forward to the next episode. Keep up the good work.
Man from the thumbnail she's so nice
Haha your talking 495 for 1989 bmw 6 series I'd figure more as I got quoted 400+for my cabrio fenders for a 1999
Don't waste your time on such a rust bucket, just get rid of it
Today's date is 18/2/2023 and believe me Mat here in America we get a lot of rust rot. Although here in sunny Arizona we do not. We get sun rot if you leave your car sitting too long in direct sunlight your interior needs an overhaul. Love your channel
Awesome videos. One thing I learned… by reading the manual.. is to loosen the torque converter as a window is provided to access the bolts and remove it with the gearbox.
This is going to be a tough one, the metal worm has been busy over the last couple of decades
This car is a gem… best BMW design ever in my eyes..
"BMW you can't kill em "
Different experience, BMW did kill me
