I’m not sure if I am just noticing it or it has been going on, but the amount of freight being pulled with a single lead engine. There may be a DPU mid train but that was always the case before. Could the be because of the price of fuel? Or am I just paying closer attention than before? Thanks for the videos your passion for filming is envious!!

WOW lots of good stuff on that train soo line hoppers , amtrack box cars and n ew csx equipment there is something for everyone. Train meets are always awesome especially with dbl. stacks. not much intermodal traffic here but a big increace in oil and coal trains.there are a couple hundered rail box box cars sitting at dolton and south holland yards maybe things are slowing down.and lots of empty intermodal containers stacked like bricks thousands of them at 47th and landers near the ns mainlines.
Quite the CSX train with the 6 CPSOO covered hoppers now sold off to OFOX leasing. Of course the CSX safety train looks real sharp and is quite the contrast from the rough MOW gons just slightly ahead. I'll see if those gons make it onto the Lake States Ry with junk ties for incineration. Its ironic but the gons and safety.train fleet #s are only a few. Thousand numbers apart both being in the MOW series. To provide full coverage note how the one tank car is the type for propane and anhydrous ammonia while the other two have different domes and pipingvalves on top and most likely the bottom. Excellent catch of unique cars.

It’s amazing you can move such heavy trains with such few engines (2-3) as long as you have flat areas! When I lived in SoCal, I often saw trains with 6-8 engines as we had lots of mountains!
