still own a 91 Silverado with the 4.3… Fixing to swap a 6.2 in there
I had to replace the fan motor on my LDV Maxus. Gladly it was an easy job to replace it!

700000k subscribers wow! Who woulda thunk it! Congratulations my friend!
The story was worth the like click.
Yeah there is only 4 screws, but the carpet monster will find them and you will be missing some. I know from experience.
My 97 s10 has a 4.3 and still smokes the tires with 238k on it. Coolant leaking out of the head but she runs good still
You mean they had fuel injection back when you were a kid, then you're not as old as I thought you were. I was 19 50 years ago and we still had carburetors, my favorite setup was the Ford Boss 429 with a cross ram intake manifold and dual Autolite inline carbs rated at 1400 cfm a piece, it was a monster, now you can get the same performance with a 4 liter v-6 a turbo and fuel injection and a performance chip in the computer. You know what's funny a lot of young people today think these computers have been around a long time, some guys were rebuilding a camaro and said they were going to put it back original at first till they found out most of the internals don't exist, then they found a niche company that can make what they can't buy but it would cost them over 100,000 dollars to do it it was a '67, my cousin had one they were nice..
Hey Eric, we Canadians know how to blow or build electrical! LOL, true storey worth reading, when I went to trade school in 1967, one of my instructors was just completing a 350 Chev V-8 engine with the rear 2 cylinders cut off, thus now a 4.3 L engine! It ran ,but had severe crankshaft vibrations ! Everybody, including me, thought he was crazy & needed a life ! I wonder if that crazy idea inspired GM , many years later to come out with the 4.3 in 1988 ? Just too coincidental ! X my heart & spit , True !
"I come here for life advice"
The best part of your story is the statement of wanting more horsepower than you'd know what to do with, there's a lot of folk who want a fast car but few lack the experience to handle such a machine. Though it seems that a lot people lack in every department when they drive a vehicle, like they cut their own license out of a cereal box and the DOT approved them without any testing.
Love the Fonzie re
Really enjoy your videos. Hate you have to work on so many rust buckets.I can't do it but glad you can.
When I changed the blower motor on my 1988 Mazda truck, I had to swap the squirrel cage over to the new blower motor. I have not yet had to change out a blower motor on my 1998 and 2004 Frontiers so don't know if those come with squirrel cage fans or not.
I like when you say "if I can do it, you can do it". Replacing a blower motor is easy, however when you need diagrams, and scan tools, this is not that easy anymore, and not in the realm of anybody to do it especially on modern cars that run on software control. But, I like your show, it give me confidence to undertake projects that are withing my knowledge.
What about unplug and replug. Maybe just a wiggle on the connector.
Enjoy the videos as always. I like the pocket tool kit and wonder where you got it ?
Man ur kids can in charge of the shipping of the t shirts for a summer job make that money… instead of tspring…
Was the conversation about the tires a riddle? It sounded funny and I was just watching a bunch of math riddle videos before watching this and it sounded so much like a riddle that I had to laugh.
Now I will keep watching to see if the riddle is solved by the end . . . :o)
Nope. It's still a riddle to me . . .
It only took you an hour to get a part from NAPA? I ordered a radiator from them last night, it was in a warehouse 8 miles away and it still took them until 10 am to get it to the shop. On a positive note, at least it was the right one (kind of)and not all wadded up.
Might be my all time favorite SMA video with the old truck story and a relatable problem.
You Give some of most helpful tips Thanks again!!!!π
Are You ASE Certified?
Ah the mistakes of our youth that would be no problem now
Reminds me of a 66 mustang I let go of for 750 dollars because it needed front ball joints
Hiya Eric
Hung brush(es).
Glad the audio is better this time, in a confined space with the mic nearby, we can hear it!
Ahh…the memories. Back in the late 90's a mouse found its way into the AC duct work of my '96 Impala SS. It ended up in the squirrel cage blower fan. I didn't know it at the time. I was driving in the middle of the Nevada desert with the AC cranked up. Then suddenly, the entire car started severely vibrating. When I reduced the fan speed, the vibration was much less. I drove about 2 more hours before getting home. Our cat showed an unusual level of curiosity about the car. She normally wants nothing to do with cars. She apparently smelled the dead rodent. Just like Eric did, I dropped the fan assembly down from behind the glove box. Much to my surprise, there was a mouse inside the fan. Needless to say he was deceased and very flat. The centrifugal forces did him in. I took some pictures (of course) and removed the dead rodent. Put the fan assembly back where it came from. No more vibration.
Like you, I had a Chev C10 w 4.3, best engine ever. Only prob was the old Getrag puked 5th gear @ about 220,000 mi. Didn't use or leak a drop of oil. Only got between 18-20 mpg. Wish I still had it, yes it would chirp the tires going into third.
I'm all commented out…. cursing at Ad Sense!
the air pipe is super important to refit as it cools the motor and the heater motor blower resistor do not discardπ€£π€£
π@8:25 "you ain't messin' wit no broke…broke!" His one-liners catch me off guard.
My first car was an old Ford XL 198? something. Had been sitting for several years with a stuck engine. Got it running and drove it several years. Took weeks of kerosene in the cylinders to get it to turn over.
when you turned that new blower motor on, I felt a nice breeze at my desk.
After thumping it with the fonzereli I would have lost it if he turned to the screen and said…. "Remember viewers…. If I can do it, you can do it…..thanks for watching" ππ€£ππ€£
GOOD JOB AGAIN, THANKS.
YOUR ASSISTANT MRS. O ARE THE GREATEST, MOST HELPFUL.
YOU ARE A LUCKY MAN.
Years ago my blower fan quit on my '72 olds, I found an inline fuse for it under the hood, replaced and going. I was lucky to find that, then later in another car had the same problem
Got a question. I have a 1998 explorer xlt air switches from head vents down to floor vents while driving. What causes that
No change resister ?
I've done a few YouTube videos myself they're rather amateur shall we say LOL but I often wondered people that do it on a regular basis and and talk while they're working when they're not filming do they also talk LOL?
Drove our Nissan Pathfinder for years with the money light on because we were short on money.
Gotta be careful making that motion with his hands… Blaaaahahaha! OMG… Made my day brother. As instructors obviously we can't "Communicate" with one another in that fashion while students are around.. but doesn't mean after they've left for the day we're not right back in the saddle, like sailors coming off a ship, in the shop/labs lol. But I have to admit getting back to watching your videos today.. I do miss the "Real World" shop environment and real time diagnosing and repairs.. not to mention the shop banter π€£Don't get me wrong teaching is amazing and watching these new tech's just getting started is a lot of fun.. especially when you see the "AaaHaa" moments occurring for their first time… along with seeing a repair done correctly.. bringing these machines back to life.. it's really cool. But just know for most of us teachers out here in the world we're living our days as live real time mechanics through you and your videos lol. Have an great week brother.. Peace Out β

As much as we hate to admit our Ole Man was always right it's good to look back and see we've become just like them, great informative video Eric and good wishes to the family
Fun video Eric. So how many Google searches did you cause with the Fonzie comment? And you can also call it "The Three Mile Island Tap"π
