I'd modify a vent cover into being the switch. Simple as that.
Or you can just install the kill switch to the starter rather than the fuel pump
If you're saavy you can wire it through multiple switches so it has to have the appropriate combination to work correctly.

One tip if you do this: Some time in the future if your vehicle doesn't start, check this circuit. Even though I used a HD quality switch, the switch broke internally and would only fail occasionally, took me a long time to track it down. It's good to have one still.

Do not do this. It is ineffective. Simply pull a relay instead.

The other reason for doing this is to allow electrical work to be done with the key engaged and if you forget, since you were working on the car not driving it, and walk away the coil doesn't get so hot it burns down your house.
my 77 c10 key is stuck forward in the auxiliary position, allowing me to start the truck but not turn it back far enough to turn it off. i have changed the ignition cylinder and have the same issue. would this be a good temporary fix to shut the truck off until i can track down the issue? thank you. Also i am assuming since i cannot turn the igniton on/off i wont be able to use a test light on the wire to test it. any advice? thank you
That's a good idea but I have another idea you can add to that consider having to kill switch inside the glove box won't you put it on a remote key fob that way you control the on and off when you leave your car and there's no kill switch to findπ π
