I got my model 3 in early September and the phantom breaking and lane intrusion where the pits, come sometime between February and Murch Phantom Breaking has almost disappeared and false lane intrusion have
Musk is an empathy-free MAGA Nazi dictator wannabe. Billionaires are WORTHLESS HUMANS.

What’s insane is that you don’t mention that FSD is a BETA! Listening to you, you’d think that FSD is a failure – when actually, you’ll soon see how wrong you are.
One thing about Electrify America, they don't work very well in most locations from Phoenix to Portland where as the Tesla Superchargers do.
Tesla would perhaps like to add LIDAR some day – but probably won’t dare to after Mr. Musk declared with great confidence and fanfare that “LIDAR is lame”.
Prrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreach Tom!!! well said!! For the life of me CANNOT process how ANYONE is willing to drop $12K on a very unfinished product like "fsd"!! Thats a whole lotta wool being plastered on a lotta faces!! No f..ing way!!
Eventually someone's gonna crap the bed, lol!
I agree they need radar for poor vision situations, but the vision FSD is getting VERY GOOD! Most accidents come from “Distraction!” Not lack of vision….
You really have been drinking the Bloomberg coolade.
The main problems with human drivers is eyes it’s distraction , tiredness and bad choices like alcohol / drugs .
Not seeing better in. Fog and other wise . Humans and ai cars should drive slower in bad conditions that’s it.
Alex Guberman: Please darken the portion of the video of your self, it’s way to bright in comparison to the rest of the video, the very bright colors are painful. Thank you.
It is time for you to approach everything you do during the day consciously. You should constantly control your thoughts and feelings. Any negative thought in your consciousness must be nipped in the bud. Protect yourself from everything that contributes to the existence of negative thoughts and feelings in your consciousness.
Alex. your ignorance and continued Tesla bashing is not needed or appreciated. Elon talked about the new radar years ago and said they would have to develop it. Which the patent indicates they have. Please be informed before you make your usual Tesla bashing rant. I have been using the FSD beta for a couple of months and it works great. It is very cautious, but what is wrong with that. Better safe than sorry.
Short and good report from Alex and comments from Tom, 👍
Next-level Tesla-trolling guaranteed! 😂
You did start to sound a bit like a desperate and uninformed couple of hacks in this one.
I've always maintained that buying Tesla's FSD is like buying a "Promise!" Likely that by the time they get it to work properly, I would have sold my Tesla and bought another car! So it is a lot of money that would be wasted.
Couple things are bothering me about the argument regarding vision.
Firstly, computers don't fall asleep at the wheel.. or drive drunk. The lion's share of those fatalities involve one of these two factors.
Secondly, vision doesn't just mean human vision. No one is limiting the cameras to what our eyes can see. Thermal imaging will no doubt be included at some point to extend vision but at some point it must be accepted that at certain times.. humans drive when they shouldn't.
High winds, blinding fog.. many different conditions SHOULD stop road traffic.
While I'm an advocate of augmenting vision with other sensors, I'm not willing to say that it's not the way forward.
LOVE THE HUMOR ALEX ❤️
I have used vision-only driving for 60 years without an accident, but I think maybe a bit of radar and FLIR could be a great help on a foggy rainy day. The software is still not ready for prime time, maybe the hardware too, especially the lack of hardware sensors to help the software.
The guy just got burned out trying to explain to Elon how difficult AI is and that a camera-only solution can never work.
He quit because his boss could buy all of America health care but he plays with rockets instead.
The problem with people is that they lose focus or get distracted. You do not want cars with the ability to see through fog and drive sixty miles an hour when visibility is near zero. So, yes, human sight is the right comp.
I do think that you have on the former Engineer, the impact of self driving industry has been very slow with LiDAR and radar technology as foremost, the idea of using cameras and using the technology to let it identify and recognize from pictures is extremely smart, LiDAR and radar tech is extremely expensive even with the intro of new chip fore-math, and type formatting is ridiculous, and keeping the cost down is marvelous, using the Tesla users is out of the box and have Tesla way ahead of their competitors, the best eg FSD compared to their competitors chalk and cheese, they have more records of drivers experience, than the 2 or 3 LiDAR/ radar on the street. The beta speed is 35- 50mph while Tesla have inter-rated to 2x that and their inventory of info is10x.
It seems to me that they are trying to market their FSD system to customers who already have their cars so changing over to or adding other sensors would seem like a pricey proposition in addition to the software upgrade and subscription costs. I for one don't want to be sitting in a courtroom trying to explain that my car ran over a child while I was taking a nap. Sure, they'll sue the manufacturer too, but the driver is going to have a problem, not just a guilty conscience.
Alex, I am a retired IT exec and have a fair understanding of some of the strategic elements in this discussion. Disclosure; I hold TSLA stock.
I think adding RADAR is a good thing… I own a yacht and understand the benefits of RADAR; infrequently necessary, but occasionally essential.
In skippering a boat, good situational awareness requires best use of ALL available inputs; vision, hearing, radio, RADAR, Sonar, various instruments, even wind on your face etc etc. and navigating a boat is supposed to be easier than a land vehicle.
I don't think the (re)addition of a sensor type is too big a deal because one of the major design elements of the 'FSD' support system is the mapping to vector space. Eg. the two video clips in your presentation tagged as "Luminar" and "Brandonee916" look like raster representations versus vector. With vectors, multi sensor multi data sources may be algorithmically or AI mapped together for a superior real world representation. With raster /pixel input it is a very messy job to map it all into one merged navigation decision input space.
The other element of strategic advantage Tesla has in the big FSD job is the supercomputer processing/conditioning of their AI training data.
So…overall prognosis; sensor type is significant but only a fraction of the overall effort.
Think of FSD like a big layer cake job; then pull out a layer of cream and replace it with jello.
The strategic advantages of the other layers all remain intact but some more refinement is necessary to achieve the necessary 'critical mass'.
When Elon said on the earnings call that Andrej was missed because he wrote 100% of the code for FSD it made me think twice about hanging on to my TSLA shares. At 10x sales without FSD TSLA has a long way to fall…
FSD Beta will 'never' be fully viable?!?! Well maybe. If your ordering your new Tesla forget paying 12K$ for FSD and buy the AutoPilot which works flawlessly 90% of the time and you only use it on Freeways and Highways – WHICH IS ALL THE SELF DRIVING YOU NEED. It changes lanes, puts you back in your preferred lane, keeps you centered in your lane, maintains your speed, handles freeway interchanges very well – In other words AutoPilot does all of the heavy lifting for you and relieves so much stress from freeway driving. You can drive yourself on city streets – really you can. Don't waste your money on FSD.
Faster computers could change everything. I would want to know this impact first. I imagine this has already been simulated.
I am less sure that adding radar or lidar would require a massive rewrite.
Give how close FSD is to working with cameras only I forsee additions to use these technologies rather than a rewrite.
Hi. I can see you are eventually coming to your senses and exposing Elon to who he really is. Not an engineer, incompetent. Overpromising. AI has been there for 50 years. Now you throw billions at it. It does not work this way. You need an invention. Your videos are good but they lack honesty and competence. But surprisingly it is improving
Thanks I am will make sure I won't get a new Tesla .
