EV is so much simpler than conventional piston engined vehicles. Yet , it is overly prized. It still economical to stay with long tested and relatively cheaper with engine driven vehicles.
They are so late to the party, Honda may not survive long enough to do this!
With Sony JV with Honda for EV cars , probably we will not have any of these cars catching fire on the roads.

After 9 mins watching this promo, I've heard nothing compelling. Too late in the game, just another follower and expected production costs to be high due to learning costs, mistakes etc. in a rapidly changing EV industry. Honda are known for ICE cars so EVs are totally different. Both companies are now known for being slow, with shareholder/management expecting profitable cash cow business….so how much are they willing to put in to a new line of business where 90% of newcomers are losing money on each car they sell? together with the product being outdated in 3months. Unless you're Tesla or BYD, this JV is a SURE FAIL.

Too late? No. Sony has a lot to offer and if they can cover mistakes Tesla does, they are going to be successful. You will see

Sony and Honda are a Japanese dream team to make EVs.
Toyota and Lexus have announced about 20 EVs, so I'm looking forward to seeing how Sony and Honda collaborate.
