Geezus, these "new" 4Runners look extremely dated and seriously need a redesign. Loved my old 4Runner, but these things look old af.
I would like the new ones to have the same Powerplant as the tundra
It outsells "those three SUVs" because it's still reliable. Unlike those 3. Simple no frills time proven engine. NO DI. Just good old manifold. 5 speed transmission that will last as long as the engine. Not much electronic "helpers". It won't break for you or beep at you every 5 seconds. I used to own 4.7 Sport model. It had an issue with manifolds because Toyota put big engine in small compartment and had to compromise. But otherwise it was a solid truck. They do rust if you live above the rust belt, but nothing liquid film can't fix. I currently own a new Passport, but thinking of ordering 40th anniversary. Looking at how Heritage addition Land Cruiser shot up in price. I think 40th anniversary 4runner will do as well. So you can have nice reliable truck for 10-15 years and sell it at a profit after that if you want to.
I bought a 2022 TRD Sport 2WD wanted a 4WD But availability was limited. Just finished a 2600 mile road trip and it did fabulous gas mileage I was very please, at one fill up I got 22.5mpg with speed limits 70-75 couldn’t believe it. It’s definitely old school but i tend to keep my cars a very long time. Wish it had wireless Apple CarPlay but I’ll be looking at wireless adapters
IT'S NOT JUST YOU PARKING YOUR CAR AND HOOONNNKKK LOCKING IT.
IT'S EVERYONE IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD
INDOOR AND OUT HAVING TO HEAR IT AND BE WOKEN BY IT.
PLEASE …LOCK YOUR VEHICLE QUIETLY NO HONK.
HOW: PRESS LOCK AND UNLOCK ON FOB 2-4 SECONDS
THIS SHOULD TURN HONK OFF
CHECK WITH YOUR DEALER SERVICE AS SOME CARS
MIGHT BE SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT.

Loved it and Loved you!!
Rely on and appreciate my 2007 4runner limited. Still going after all these years. 200, 000 miles…still going. Does what it is supposed to do ("simple" though I know the tech of 2007 is still sophisticated). The vehicle has been solid from -45 Celsius to +35 Celsius. On road/Off road. Snow, Sand, Ice…highway, byways, gravel and asphalt..and no roads. Still I won't be getting a newer one, don't need all the 'upgrades' 'advances'…and fuel is not getting cheaper and other costs. I do love that it is so adaptable to what I am doing. Hauling stuff, camping gear, etc…. Yet, I will be moving to more efficient transportation as the clock ticks away. Still, a great vehicle…I'll run it for a while yet before the electric rides gets reasonable. An electric 4runner? hmmmmm….have no idea if that is possible. Would work with my solar panel array though. Electric…. Likely not….lol. Having said all that…I will be sad when I finally 'retire' the runner…great vehicle all in all.
Not only are they built in Japan but at a Lexus plant too! If it wasn't such a pig on gas I'd buy one of the 40th anniversary in a heart beat!
the only thing new for the 2023 model year is higher APR on financing.
The Limited is hands down the best snow vehicle I've ever owned (I had a '16, traded it for a Lexus, and then came back to a 4Runner 18 months later), and the Torsen diff is the reason. Torsens do two things other center diffs don't. One is to make it practical to have four wheels driven all the time, without that moment of instability when rear power is added through, say, a viscous coupling. The other is that, unlike normal differentials, a Torsen will send power to the HIGH traction axle rather than to the path of least resistance, without depending on tricking the diff with brake applications. Nothing I've ever had, including a couple of Land Rovers, has been more confidence inspiring in winter driving. Since you asked about that Torsen differential 😉
Called 50 dealers yesterday and the TRD PRO had a 10 grand markup.
So that MSRP your seeing is a farce. The 10 grand hasn't been added yet. Bend over !
While your bent over spread those checks because its worse. 3 months about the value of a Tacoma has dropped $3,500.00. And expect to drop another grand this month.
Guess that green new deal is telling auto owners a few things. Like – your Toyota won't hold value anymore. Your getting an upcharge whether you like it or not
We are destroying your buying value so you might as well buy other brands. Your electric cars are crush autos. Throw aways. And you will be buying gap insurance to cover your upcharge.
Here's is a buying tip. Drive your current car ir truck into the dirt. Save your money. Don't worry it won't be worth a plug nickle anyway. Might as well take it to rust and beyond. Send tip. If you just have to screw yourself go to smaller dealers in towns with kess than 30 thousand residents. They will have less of an upcharge.
Best tip of all. Strip your leaders of all their wealth before they strip you of yours.
They need to do sum about the interior
🤮
I don't like what I see at 4:01 in the video where the storage area is not flat. There is a hump where the rear seats fold down. Anyone try sleeping on that? Sorry, that's a deal killer.
I'm thinking of trading my Tacoma for this. Need more room in the back seats for my growing son and I dont like the new tundra.
Bought my wife a 2023 TRD Sport, love it. So much in fact I'm looking at my 2019 Tacoma and wondering how much time we may have left together. My Tacoma and me, not my wife and me. 🙂
got myself a '22 TRD Sport and all i gotta say is, despite how much i love my big green machine, if/when they finally upgrade to either an 7 or 8 speed V6 or maybe even a V8, i will be trading in for that ASAP.
….but i don't see that happening before 2025 to 2030 :/
I love my 4 runner
I didn’t get the TRD, the Limited nor the 40th Anniversary Edition, I just got the Basic Barebones bottom of the barrel SR5 that’s just as good if not better than the Bells, Whistles and Perks. I saved myself about 300 dollars a month in payments on choosing the Barebones Bottom of the Barrel Model.
The Limited still have old clunky knobs for volume and heat/air. This might be fine for other models. Limited need an updated more modern instrument panels with classier appearance 💯
